The new tv series is set to begin on April 30th. I only found out about this yesterday. Don't know how I missed it.

I've heard the name before, but I have no idea what it's about. Anybody got a quick two-sentence summary?

It's based on a book by Neil Gaiman. The main character, Shadow, is released early from prison when his wife dies. Then he starts working for a guy called Wednesday. Cue fantastic things happening.

Okay, so that's not two sentences.

Gods and monsters are real because people believe. Immigrants to the United States brought their old gods with them and then birthed new ones as Americana developed its obsessions with media, celebrity, technology, and drugs. Tensions ensue and people get caught up in the politics of it all
