Hi everyone, first time poster here. Please excuse any message board faux pas I'm likely to commit.
My group is running Curse of the Crimson Throne. I've run this adventure path before. There has been an interesting curve ball thrown at me, this time:
The party wizard (an evocation specialist) flew over the walls of the Academae and requested an application for enrollment. I know I should have just had him incinerated by the Academae's famous protective wards, but I was curious to see what he was up to. Well, now I know ... and part of me wishes I had just incinerated him.
Honestly, I like the idea of letting him enroll. But I need a good "entrance exam".
He's a little new to PF (15 game sessions, lv. 5) I can tell he hasn't really learned how to use Spellcraft and Knowledge (Arcana) yet. So I would like to warn him that in order to pass the entrance exam, he will need to have working knowledge of the two skills mentioned above. Of course there will be a combat encounter somewhere in the exam, but I'd like some ideas from the PF community, to help me come up with tests which would require use of Spellcraft and Knowledge (Arcana).
