Are you tired of finding the same boring +1 armor over and over?

Have even the demon armor or the efreeti chain lost their novelty?

Have you ever wished for a reason to wear all those “trap” armor options?

Search no further. The treasures of Toril are in your hands now.

This product contains 6 uncommon, 11 rare, 10 very rare, and 6 legendary armors, for a total of 33 new alphabetically arranged panoplies of protection at your disposal. More than 20 of them have illustrations.

There is at least one example for EVERY armor type in the game. Even if you wear padded armor or ring mail, you WILL find yourself a magic version of your armor of choice.

Many old favorites that have been a part of Forgotten Realms canon for decades are back, sometimes reappearing for the first time in decades. Laeral’s storm armor, roaring armor of Ammarindar, Shoon’s buckler and other familiar magic armors are yours again.

Each armor in this product comes with several lines of flavor text that grounds it in the history of the Realms and serves as inspiration for adventures featuring the item.

Here are some examples of items both old and new:

Balduran’s Armor of Heroism

Armor (half-plate), legendary (requires attunement)

This ancient but immaculately preserved armor made of glistening mithral mixed with alchemical gold is said to have belonged to the hero Balduran, the founder of Baldur’s Gate. It used to be exhibited at the Hall of Wonders in the city he founded, but its present whereabouts are unknown. Whoever wears the armor is surrounded by an aura of heroic enthusiasm.

You gain a +2 bonus to AC while wearing this magic armor, which is made of mithral and doesn’t impose disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.

In addition, your Charisma score increases by 2, to a maximum of 20, and your hit point maximum increases by 10 hp.

Gusoku of the River Dragon

Armor (breastplate), legendary (requires attunement)

This exquisite cuirass was worn by an ancient Kozakuran daimyo that had made a pact with a spirit dragon. With the power of tides at his command, the warlord could lay waste to his enemies. When he started abusing this power, the dragon withdrew its protection, and the warlord met his an ironic death while crossing a torrid mountain river. Recent rumours indicate that cultists of Olhydra have unearthed this long-lost item.

While wearing this magic armor, you are immune to cold damage, can breathe underwater and have a swimming speed of 60 feet. You cannot be forced to move or have your speed reduced by strong currents, either natural or magical (such as control water or a marid’s Water Jet ability).

This item has 3 charges. While wearing the armor, you can use an action to expend 1 charge to cast one of the following spells from the shield (save DC 18): ice storm, control water, and water walk. The item regains all expended charges at dawn.

In addition, you can use an action to cast tsunami (save DC 18) from the armor. This property can’t be used again until the next dawn.

Hlang of the Tyrannosaurus

Armor (shield), rare (requires attunement)

This tall oval-shaped Chultan shield is made of out of dinosaur hide and bears a stylised painting of a tyrannosaurus’ head with its jaws wide open. Both an instrument of protection and a powerful weapon, it is said to have belonged to General Thiru-taya.

When you have this magic shield equipped, you can, as a bonus action, command the tyrannosaurus head to animate and make a magical melee weapon attack against a target within 10 feet of you that you can see. It makes an attack roll with a +10 bonus; if it hits, it deals 4d12 piercing damage. This property can’t be used again until the next dawn.

Roaring Armor of Ammarindar

Armor (breastplate), very rare (requires attunement)

These breastplates are decorated with silver elven runes on the front and are carved with a bear or dragon head on the back. The head roars whenever danger approaches the wearer from the rear. All twelve of these breastplates are believed to be in the hands of the tanarukks that rule over the Underdark city of Ammarindar.

You gain a +1 bonus to AC while wearing this magic armor.

While wearing this magic armor, you have advantage on Dexterity saving throws against effects that you can see, such as traps and spells, as long as you aren’t blinded, deafened, or incapacitated.
When you are hit by a nonmagical ranged weapon attack, you can use your reaction to reduce the damage to 0 and redirect the attack. Make an attack roll with the modifier of the original attack against the original attacker’s AC; if you hit, you deal the normal damage of the attack. This property can’t be used again until the next dawn.
