I know this is mentioned in the Remembrances thread, but the man had such an impact on genre fiction, I think he deserves his own thread.

Mr. Stan Lee, one of the fathers of modern comic books and superheroes, has passed, at the age of 95.

Truly a shame, what a legend. I'm happy he still made a cameo in the new PS4 Spiderman game though. Every time that man made a cameo, made me smile.

They should put a life-sized bronze statue on the sidewalk in front of the Marvel Comics offices, just off to one side, of him dressed as the postman from his Fantastic Four cameo (with a mail bag full of comic books) just walking along delivering the mail, without a plaque or anything, just his name on his uniform's name tag... I think he'd get a kick out of that.

The next Thor comic should show - from a distance - a Valkyrie getting an urgent summons and heading for Midgard in a hurry. The shadow of Odin One-Eyed looks on in grave acknowledgement of the significant event, but speaks not.
