Maybe an MCU timeline

And we have an MCU timeline maybe? https://www.yahoo.com/news/marvel-released-official-mcu-timeline-121700173.html

  • 1943-1945:Captain America: The First Avenger
  • 2010:Iron Man
  • 2011:Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor
  • 2012:Avengers, Iron Man 3
  • 2013:Thor: The Dark World
  • 2014:Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
  • 2015:Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man
  • 2016:Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming
  • 2016 through to 2017:Doctor Strange
  • 2017:Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War
The timeline doesn't include Ant-Man and The Wasp but, given its mid-credits scene takes place at the same time as Infinity War, we can just assume it's set in 2017.

but it jsut opens up it's own can of worms.....

What doesn’t make sense is Dr Strange going from novice to Scorcerer Supreme in less than 12 months - so probably better to assume he started at the same time as Iron Man 1 an unseen time jump occurrs before he reappears in Ragnarok

Really? You're going to quibble about how fast Strange could accumulate XP given that he A) had control of the Time Gem, B) can, & does, spend time in different dimensions.
Even if you just write it off as "Magic", at least he comes with a built-in plot device explanation.

But we also know that he was active & on SHIELDS radar back in Winter Soldier.

I think that Dr. Strange starts some time shortly after Iron Man 2. I seem to recall that the patient with the crushed spine, mentioned at the beginning of the movie, was supposed to be the test pilot of the Hammer armour that did a 180 spin at the waist.

It is tricky, as Spider-man doesn’t seem to be aging in real time. So time might not be passing identically. Comic book time is kicking in.
