Darkness/Deeper Darkness & Ghosts?

This seems a little weird. I've got an encounter with a bunch of ghosts, including one who was a cleric and can cast deeper darkness. Ghosts have darkvision but I just discovered to my chagrin that it doesn't apply to darkness spells. So the ghosts would have a 20% miss chance?!? Seems a little weird...

Why weird? The fact that ghosts can't see in the dark is the reason they go bump in the night

Just give them Blind-Fight and you're good to go.

I do find it weird as well, that many undead have to rely on their visual senses.

All undead should have some lifesense ability which works similar to blindsense or even blindsight. But that is just IMHO, of course.
