Connors' Monster Manual for African setting

Connorsrpg

Adventurer
As I am developing and converting several monsters for my African-like first 4e campaign I decided to consolidate the monster entries into one thread.

(Moderators please delete the 'tasloi' & 'ingogo' threads).

Note also the Valley and Adventures for the Shattered Gates of Slaughtergarde are a central part of this campaign. The demon lord Mu Tahn Laa is ape-like in this campaign and as such several ape-like demonic creatures may also feature.

Also, many of these are likely to be conversions (or compete reworkings of monsters from Nyambe: African Adventures. Written by Chris Dolunt for Atlas Games...and a huge inspiration of mine ;)).

I will be posting most creatures as word docs, so others can use and modify. A little hint for the single entry creatures: if you add a pic (or I have one there already) put it at the top upside down. That way you can fold these over your DM Screen with picture facing the players and the stats facing DM.

LIST
Agogwe
Demon - Kerit
Goblin - Deathmaster Hexer
"Heart of Darkness"
Howling Fern
Ingogo
Leopard - Awakened & spectral
Monkey - Awakened
Spider - Greenfang (small, monstrous)
Tasloi

I HAVE SINCE REMOVED ALL THESE FILES. It seems too slow a way of doing things, plus this campaign ended. I still have all these creatures in word if you care to send personal post/mail.

Goblin Hexer Deathmaster

In the SGSG module this is a hobgoblin priest I think. Nambrahk or some such. I changed him to a goblin hexer (MM) and added the deathmaster template (DMG).

PCs had a lot of fun with this guy ;)

Demon - Kerit

This is a one-eyed, fire-breathing, ape demon from Nyambe: African Adventures.

In the SGSG I used this creature in place of the howler.

Awakened Leopard & Spectral Leopard

Another animal given sentience by the "Heart of Darkness" and some lower level spectral leopards or 'ndalawo' from African Adventures p220.

Howling Fern

A nice little plant encounter for the forest/jungle.

This is done as a solo monster. Having seen how plants were done in in a Dragon Dark Su article I would probably add things like Perception checks etc if I was to write this up again. But this doesn't change the mechanics of the fight.
