New Games

Well, new to me.

I got involved in a big Gencon trade. I'm giving away Intrigue, Princes of Florence and Alexander the Great

and getting Hive, Taj Mahal & Zombies!!!

Taj Mahal is the big "get".

Zombies!!! has all the strategy of Roborally -- only with zombies.

Cool. I want to play the new war game you've been talking about...

It's been delayed in North America.

The first printing was offered to european distributors first but the demand was so great that they all order much more than was expected. Instead of shorting some european distributors and giving monopolies to just a few, they ordered a second and third printing to meet demand.

The second printing will meet the rest of the european orders and all US pre-orders (that's me). It's expected by mid September. The 3rd printing will go to US distributors for their regular stock.

I suspect much of this is a result of the Euro being so much more valuable than the US$.

It's great news that the system is in hot demand -- it means continuing support and expansions for other theatres. It just sucks that I have to wait.

I got Ryan all hot for it last night at pool -- he's also eager to play the game.

The designer is keeping mum about the game being at GenCon -- I take that as a sign that it might be there. I might end up buying it if it's available and then sell my Pre-Order on BGG since it will still be in short supply.

I'm toying with some game ideas again. I am calling it Empty Throne. It is a game where the players are vying for the title of King over the feudal lands they are lords over. I have messed with this before, but I am coming up with some neat card ideas for messing with people in the game...

It seems I'm also in negotiations to trade a bunch of my Magic: The Gathering cards for some games too.

sounds good. I am still working on my game. I am thinking of just making the board so big that tactical elements can be played on the main board, without a secondary board as I envisioned earlier...

Green Ronin - True20 Revised Edition, True20 Adept's Handbook, True20 Bestiary, Blue Rose RPG (game of romantic fantasy), Mutants & Masterminds Deluxe GM Screen, a bunch of Thieves' World materials and a couple quick-start rules for the new Song of Ice and Fire game based on George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones books.

Paizo - Pathfinder Beta and a set of Pathfinder dice.

Mongoose - Shem, Stygia and a Conan module.

I also bought Agricola and Conflict of Heroes (even though I still have a pre-order coming).
