KC Game Day - July10th at 31st Century Games

It's that time of year folks. Time to start thinking about another KC Game Day.

A friend of mine talked to the guy at 31st Century Games in Olathe. I have not been in that store in a while, but apparently he has a ton of space. Not only is his showroom of decent size, but he has acquired the space next to his own, and has converted it into a giant gaming area. My friend talked to him about having a game day there, and he was very receptive to the idea. Of course, it wouldn't cost anything, either, so that's an added bonus.

Like I said, I haven't talked to him yet, and I don't have any dates in mind, but I figure if we shot for something at the end of May or June, that would give everyone plenty of time to prepare.

I'd vote for the end of May... June is going to be busy for me:) But I'd be happy to show up for playing or DMing or whatever might be needed.

Thanks for spearheading, Curtis:)

For a Kansas City gameday, I am -so- there. I've been without a group for about three months now since one of my roommates left to move back to Virginia, so I've been trying to find a way to meet other gamers around here. Either May or Jun works for me, and my other roommate will probably be in as well. My girlfriend's shown an interest in gaming, so she may want to observe a little with me, but not really participate in anything unless shes more into the idea between now and then. But I'll be more than happy to play, or run, or whatever it takes to get another KC Gameday up and running. I didn't get a chance to make the last one, since I didn't live here yet, but I remember watching the thread and posting in it and all, as well. Regardless, anything I can do to help, and all!

-This is Matt, still getting used to not seeing mountains in the distance.

Overland Park - the City that Sprint built :p

When did you transplant to this area Kid Socrates?

Kid Socrates, we play all kinds of stuff. Last year they played Zombies, and I brought my Chez Geek decks. I think someone even played some Chess last year. So, if it's a game, it's in the realm of possibility. Point being, if your girlfriend isn't into role-playing, she still might find something that interests her.

Taren, did you move? I was in your building the other day and couldn't find you.

Did I move? WEll...let's see.....3 times in the last 4-5 months

I'm now in 6160, in a new position (a promotion at that), and doing great! (I love my new job)

How's things going in your neck of the woods?

Well, good I suppose. As good as IT gets. They moved me to a design team late last year, so that's been a challenge for me. I'm still in 6100. They did announce that they weren't going to affect my area with outsourcing for at least a year, so I guess that's positive. As positive as can be, I suppose.

Sounds cool. Personally, May and June are both good. As long as there's a set date I can probably work something out and finally get around to meeting some gamers in the area.
