Shifter advice

First Post
I've just started playing a shifter in a high powered realms game. Right now I'm druid5/shifter4. I have a couple of questions.

Advice for good forms? Favorites right now are the girallon for melee, griffon for aerial, and large shark for aquatic.

How does my natural attacks work with a BAB of +6 or higher? For instance, with a full attack as a girallon do I get an extra claw attack? Or do the two simply not work together.

My DM goes for the MotW explaination of wild shape, so that I get extraordinary abilities that are based off senses, movement, or physical attributes. We do 3.0, with a few exceptions. For instance he allows me the spontaneous casting from 3.5. Any general advice on playing a shifter welcomed.

Boost the crap out of your knowledge skills so you can reasonably be familiar with many different forms besides just animals.

Other than that, I've never played a shifter, so I can't be of much help.

You don't get iterative attacks with natural (claw/bite) weapons. However, if you're using a handheld weapon you can get your iterative attacks and use secondary natural attacks.

I played a shifter in 3.0 and my favorite form was the troll for mid level (8-13) adventuring (regeneration is a life saver). Get an amulet of Mighty Fists and all of your attacks are considered magical and you get an enhancement bonus to hit. The extra damage from rend is pretty nice.

For high level play (14+), you'll want to learn the Planetar form. The physical abilities and immunities are awesome.

Also, if you swing by the Valhalla arena over at rpol.net (the link is in my sig) there's a guy there called Masquerade that plays a shifter. Looking into his fights should give you lots of interesting ideas.
