Roll Call of Published EN Worlders!

Tav_Behemoth

First Post
I've always been impressed by how many authors and artists there are at EN World - both established professionals who care enough about this community (and the resources and ideas it offers) to become regular posters, and also people who started out as fans and have now broken in to the industry. The latter category especially seems to be growing, which is definitely a cause for celebration, and I suspect there are even more published EN Worlders than I'm aware of since I won't always know to match the screen name and pen name.

I thought it'd be cool to create a directory of EN Worlders and their publications, and Morrus has said he'd be willing to set up such a page on the site if we create the list of people and publications. Here's how I propose we go about it:

1) Reply with your screen name and the name under which you've been published.

2) List your publications! When possible, put a link to a place where folks can buy 'em. Since one of the goals here is to support EN World, for print books I'd suggest linking to its entry at the EN World RPG Shop; for PDFs at RPGNow, add &SRC=EnWorld to the end of the link.

2a) If you're in the happy position of having far too many publications to list individually (*cough* philreed *cough* :D ), post a link to somewhere that has your bibilography.

3) For now, just list publications for which you're an author, artist, or otherwise a credited creative contributor, not an editor, publisher, etc.

4) Limiting in advance who is or isn't an EN Worlder is a thorny issue, which I propose we sidestep by defining it as "people who post in this thread". This means people can only nominate themselves; if there's an author or artist you know from EN World, send them a link to this thread rather than posting on their behalf.

5) Admire the mighty juggernaut of creativity and talent known to mortals as EN World! Calculate how many years remain until we take over gaming entirely! :)

I'll post my own credits when this thread needs bumping...

Hmm, nothing you can buy any more, but...

Eric Noah (aka EricNoah)
Author: 2 articles in Dragon Magazine (pre 3E)
Cartographer: a few maps in the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas
Author: about 1/3 of the help files for eTools (when it was still a Fluid project, pre-Code Monkey, though some of my stuff is still in there...)

Currently, I have only one credit to my name.
Keeper of Secrets (published name: Matthew Muth)
Author: Temple of the Screaming Skull (a 1st-3rd level modual for d20) available at RPGnow.com

Stormborn aka Scott Carter
Author: 2 articles in Dragon ("Arcane Ancestry" and the follow up), an article in sjgame.com's Pyramid on Spell Points, and a couple of things contracted/sold but not yet in print (including an article that appears in the ads for EN World Gamer #1 - "Golemcraft"- but hasn't seen print yet, at one point there was discussion of it being moved for space reason, but I have heard nothing official)

I'll just list a few things I'm proud of. There's no complete listing anywhere online.

Art
I've done some covers. My favorite might be:

But this one for Ken Hite's Supressed Transmission 2 was a lot of fun. The original is heavy as hell.

Design/Writing

Frag -- A lot of fun to create.

Dork Tower -- It's always fun to work with John.

Pokethulhu -- Yep, always fun working with John. (I even worked on some Dork Tower comic covers that were a ton of fun.)

And use the following link to get a listing of PDFs I've worked on.

And I'm waiting to hear about a card game that's in with a company.

Editing/Coordination

Way too many to list. I am proud of the fact that it was my persistence and work that led to the Hellboy Sourcebook and Roleplaying Game. I even got to co-write the Hellboy comic in the book.

Define "published"

I don't really think of myself as having "Broken into the industry" (I don't think I'd have the time), but:

- I have been paid for reviews at the Journal of the Traveller's Aid Society the now defunct D20 weekly
- I was part of the Dungeons top 30 adventures panel
- I made a free doc (based on Elements of Magic) that got OGLed into a web enhancement for the Second World Sourcebook.

Are you limiting it only to d20 products? I hope not, as none of my d20 writings were for professional print publications, but for an online ezine (which unfortunately seems to be down at the moment hehe -- when it is back up I will edit my post and include links to the articles that I wrote there).

As for other products/systems, I have the following credits

Channeling Comanion (Spirit World material and spell lists only)

High Adventure Role Playing (HARP - I am sure somebody has seen me mention this before. (pdf version on sale for $2 until January 10th) :D

While not listed, other than as editor, I do have some minor bits in the following books:
Martial Law (one chapter)
College of Magics (the spell creation system)
Monsters (some of the dragons and some of the demons)
Loot (not released yet - some of the stuff about runes)

All of the above are available from http://www.ironcrown.com
And of course, everything is under my name (Tim Dugger).

Hey! Does the credit I receive in pcGen count? :D

Edit:
Okay, here are the links to the two d20 articles I wrote for The Guild Companion. (note: this is a free ezine...)

The first is a variant Martial Arts System - http://www.guildcompanion.com/scrolls/2001/aug/d20martialartssystem.html

This one is a Matrix Spell Casting article. It is basically a variation on what spells can be cast and so forth. (Semi-spontaneous casting?) -- http://www.guildcompanion.com/scrolls/2002/apr/matrix.html

Enjoy

Patrick Younts

Articles: 3 articles for Dragon. Phoenix Fist vs. Four Scholar's Boxing in #289, Shen: Warriors of the Animal Fist is #305 (IIRC), and an article about bardic prestige classes whose name I've forgotten in #315 (IIRC). Power Class: Mercenary was originally written to be a stand alone pamphlet-size book, but instead was written up in Sign&Portents #8, and an article of flaws for martial artists was originally slated for the Quintessential Monk II, but was instead put in Signs&Portents #13 or #14.

Sourcebooks: Man, I've written lots of them. The first was Stormhaven: City of a Thousand Seas. I've written around 20 books for Mongoose, among them Quintessential Monk I & II, Quintessential Sorcerer, Quint Chaos Mage, and the Quint II Cleric, Monk, Barbarian and Ranger books.

I've also contributed to two AEG books, Relics and Wilds, and written stuff for a bunch of other folks as well.

Lately, I've written or contributed to 3 books for Goodman Games, none of which have been released yet, including what I think is my best (to be) printed work.

I've also published 9 pdfs now through Ronin Arts, and couldn't be more pleased with doing so. I love publishing through Ronin, because I get to write what interests me, and it always comes out looking good. I mean, really, just look at the cover Phil did:

product_3507.jpg

I'd link to a complete list of my stuff, but no one has one, and I'm not going to uplink my resume (it isn't updated). Amazon lists a bunch of my stuff, some of which is credited to others (including cover artists), and some of which I haven't written, but is blamed on me anyway.

My Ronin Arts stuff is here: Patrick Younts at Ronin Arts
