I've looked some time at the following feat from EoMR and I'm not sure, how to convert it:
Is this correct? Or is too much work, knowing that at character creation one has simply to spend 300 XP for gaining all profenciences with simple and martial weapons and armor proficiences with shield? And if yes, what would be the alternative?
Because of the different effects, it has to be separated. Having already any armor proficiency feat means simply spending XP for another feat. Having free proficiences means spending XP for another feat and then paying the cost of simple ability two times, 600 XP for a level two ability, and 900 XP for a level three ability.Armored Casting [Mage]
You have no spell failure chance because of armor.
Prerequisite: Armor Proficiency (light)
Benefit: You suffer no spell failure chance from wearing armor or using shields that you actively took feats to become proficient in. Additionally, if you have one or more levels in a class that grants free proficiency in light armor or shields, you suffer no spell failure chance from those armor and shields. If you have two or more levels in classes that grant free proficiency in medium armor, you suffer no penalty from that, and with three or more levels in classes that grant free proficiency in heavy armor or tower shields, you suffer no spell failure chance for those.
Thus, you can only cast spells in armor that you actually paid a feat for, or if you have devoted a few levels to a class that grants them for free. This prevents a high-levelMage from dipping into Mageknight for one level just so he can wear mithral full plate.
You still cannot cast spells with somatic components if you are bound, or if you’re wearing a locked gauntlet.
