OK, since the only game stores near me on Cape Cod sell ZERO RPG books, all they sell are CCG's, and miniutare games, and computer game time for the LAN's they have. I need to get my books from an online place. What I'm looking for is a decent discount and one that will ship my order when they say they will. I've never orded anything online before, so I'd like some suggestions. Thanks. Also, what places to avoid would be good as well.

I've used amazon for over a year now with no problems at all. They give you a delivery estimate, and are often early, they discount even brand new product, and they admit it when they make mistakes.

Amazon is good for the more popular titles like Wizards and some Green Ronin, but depending on what you are looking for you may need something more RPG oriented. Like EN World :D Yes, there is an EN World shop. If you are looking to buy a lot of books, then I'd go with Discountrpg.com if you buy enough from them you get 40% off of everything. That is great if you have some buddies and tyou all go in togeter for a big order.

I usually shop around a bit, and then wind up getting things on Amazon -- it's so hard to argue with prompt, free shipping, good prices, and excellent customer service (your mileage may vary -- it's always rocked for me). Places with deeper discounts tend to lose my interest once shipping is factored in ($25 = free shipping on Amazon), and even when eBay is temptingly cheap I weigh that against the chance of getting screwed. So it's a predictable answer, but it's also honest. ;)

I have a friend who swears by Overstock.com for his gaming purchases. I've only ever bought one thing from them (not gaming-related), so I can't really vouch -- but their prices are certainly good.

buying from Amazon.com

Don't forget to join the "Share the Love" thread, which gives you discounts on what other EnWorlders are buying as well. (Unfortunately, that can lead to lots of buying...)

I've bought from eBay as well, but that tends to be good only after a few months after the street date, since it takes time for the supply to match demand. Don't get carried away and pay more from ebay than you would from Amazon.com (especially check the shipping prices on eBay!).

You might want to get the Amazon.com credit card as well, which gives you a coupon every so often to buy Amazon.com stuff.

hands down the best place is amazon.com ESPECIALLY if you join the "shrare the love thread." You can get an additional 10% off the already low amazon.com prices if someone in the "share the love" thread buys it first.

There is NO lower price anywhere on Earth for new books. walmart.com has pretty good prices but I found out after ordering from there that they charge TAX, whereas many online sites, like amazon.com do not charge tax. So make sure you check the shipping/tax charges before you make a purchase anywhere else or you could end up paying more in the end, even if the price of the product itself is lower.
