SW: Galactic Republic IC

OK, this'll be the In Character thread to post for the Republic in my Starwars:Imperial Ressurgence campaign. If you're an Imperial, don't read any further! They're not allowed to read your posts, you can't read theirs.

For the Republicans, this is where you'll start.

Here's a little intro of all the characters

Mirthcard: Oothar, Male Ithorian Consular 2

Garyh: Brasa Drubs, Male Gungan Guardian 2

Oothar, Shi-dal, and Brasa : Master Skywalker has asked the three of you to escort Garek Valmar, a diplomat from Naboo, to Nal-Hutta to speak with the hutts, who are thinking of finally joining the republic.

You all start on naboo. The three jeci know each other from the Jedi Academy, and you've all just met Garek. Feel free to do some intro/roleplaying while I set up the Imperials. By tommorow I'll have you guys ready to head off on your mission. (And bulsarra's character should be here by then, too)

"I must say, Ambassador Valmar, your planet is more beautiful than I had previously been told," Oothar says as he looks out over the waters below from the balcony of the conference room. The Ithorian takes a deep breath and exhales slowly. "Now that we are here, I can see that Brasa's unbound enthusiasm for his homeworld was more than justified. You must be sad to leave her behind."

He turns to look at the human noble and continues, "Although I have enjoyed our short stay here, I must confess that I am most excited to be on our way. To think that the Hutts would be ready to join the Republic ... did you ever think you would live to see the day? It just shows how much the Republic has accomplished, how needed and respected it has become," Oothar walks over to stand at the Ambassador's side, putting his hand on Valmar's shoulder, "I have every confidence that you will be able to convince them to do the right thing and join our cause."

"Ah, here are my companions now," The Ithorian looks up as Shi-dal and Brasa enter.

"Yousa be right, Oothar," greeted the Gungan. "Meesa be likin' de Naboo, but de Hutts joinin' de Republeek be muy muy important."

Brasa reflected on this opportunity, and felt proud to be a part of it.

"Yousa no be worryin' now, Ambasseedor Valmar," Brasa continued. "Wesa be keepin' you safe. Wesa Jedi. Wesa defenders."

Indeed this planet is quite exceptional in it's beauty. It is truly a pleasure and an honor to visit. The prospect of the Hutts joining the Republic is intriguing to say the least.

And please do not worry Ambassador Valmar, the three of us shall keep you safe whilst you carry out your mission.

"Thank you all, I will indeed sorry to leave Naboo. It's a jewel of a planet." Garek smiles at the assembled Jedi. "I'm honored that the Republic has sent Jedi to guard me, let alone three. I'm honored indeed!" he adds to Brasa.

He leans on the ledge at the edge of the balcony, savouring the sight of the sunlight reflecting on the water, and the green forest in front of them.

"It's certainly an event to remember, if we can pull it off. To be honest, I'm surprised that the Senate has entrusted me with this mission. I doubt I'm the most skilled diplomat they have at their disposal, and the Hutts are... clever." he carefully replies to Oothar. "But I appreciate your confidence in me. And I must admit, I'm rather excited."

OOC: Haven't heard from Bulsarra yet, but i'll figure him in later.

IC:
As the four of you stand on the balcony, chatting, an aide walks up and bows to you.
"Excuse me, sirs, but your ship is ready... If you will follow me, I shall take you to it"

"The Mother Jungle of Ithor was much like Naboo...," Oothar reflects, while staring at the lush vegetation outside, "...before the Empire ravaged her." He is silent for a moment, before continuing, "The New Republic has saved her, but we have much left to repair."

"As for the Hutts, they are not only clever, they can also be extremely dangerous," Oothar replies to Garek, "or so Master Skywalker tells us. I have a feeling that is why he is sending three Jedi with you."

"Of course, Shi-dal and I have some experience in diplomatic matters, as well," the Ithorian continues, "and Brasa, being the first Gungan accepted into our order, was given this assignment in recognition of both Naboo's importance in these negotiations and of his prodigious skill as a protector of the weak and defenseless."

"Let us hope that we do not have need of his lightsaber on this mission, however," Oothar says with what passes for a smile on both of his mouths.

Oothar bows in return to the aide and then turns to the others, "After you, gentlemen..."

OOC: Oops, guess I was working on my post above while you were working on yours, Jemal Anyway, I talked to Bulsarra today. He should have his character to you tomorrow.
