1) Try to plan another one for early November. There is some opposition to this, myself included, because of the close time-frame and some other obligations I have personally.
2) Try to plan one around the same time next year as the 1st game day (Sometime in March.)
3) Try to plan one around January, and then make it a tri-yearly event (say, in January, May, and September, or something like that).
Other than a few idle musings at the close of Saturday, we haven't really discussed it much.

November might be difficult to schedule for folks not in the Triangle: folks will likely already be travelling for Thanksgiving, and scheduling two road trips in a month gets hard (especially with all the road trips that end up happening around Christmas).
January sounds great to me, especially late January -- that'll be far enough from the holidays that a road trip sounds good, but close enough to the holidays that I'll still have no desire at all to hang out with family.
March could work too.

I am a State grad myself (Class of 99). If you're looking for a gaming group while in the triangle, then let me know. I am trying to find another player.
