The Rundown

John Crichton

First Post
Just saw it and I was very entertained. One of the best pure action flicks I've seen all year. I didn't think I'd ever enjoy a movie with The Rock as the star but I was dead wrong. I could see this guy in action movies for years to come. A freaky but pleasant surprise.

Seann William Scott was hilarious (as to be expected) and Christopher Walken played the bad guy role that he knows oh-so-well. Peter Berg is a director that I will have to watch because his directing style really worked for me, especially in the action scenes - the bar fight is now one of my favorite single action scenes of this year.

If you want 90 minutes of fun, check it out. Solid action, really good laughs. 3 of 4 stars.

4 = Classic. Blew me away from start to finish.
3 = Very good. Entertaining and a worthwhile experience.
2 = Average. Watchable but flawed.
1 = Terrible. Unwatchable dreck with minor entertainment value at best.
0 = I wish I had that time back. So bad that I almost walked out of the theater.

Anyone else see it? :)

I went to see it on Friday at the Matinee with my girlfriend. I was expecting a turn-off-your-brain popcorn action flick, and it delivered. I wasn't expecting it to be as entertaining as it was though. I walked out of the theatre more satisfied than I did after The Matrix: Reloaded. This is the second time I've walked in the theatre this year expecting an OK movie only to have thoroughly enjoyed myself (the first was with Pirates of the Carribbean). Definately another movie I have to put on my "must-buy" list.

I know a lot of people hate Roger Ebert, but when he gives an action movie like this 3 1/2 out of 4 stars, you can pretty well bet it will at least be entertaining. Reviewers like him would normally blast this type of movie.

Haven't seen it myself, but I'm planning on it.

You mean you did not see the Scorpian King! While not a great flick it was very enjoyable and I thought showed Rock ability very well. Bring on Predator 3! :)

Actually, the reason a lot of people don't like Ebert is because he gives
movies like these good reviews. He grades 'em by how much he was
entertained by them, which is why I like him, even if I don't agree with
him half the time.

I've always respected Roger Ebert's reviews. I find that I agree with him more often than not. He has excellent knowledge of film in general and knows what he is talking about. I have noticed that since his longtime partner (Gene Siskel) passed that his reviews aren't as on the mark but they are still better and more fair than most critics.

My girlfriend saw this, and said it was fun. She's in DC (until December), so I'm not about to shell out the cash to see it alone. :D

But we'll probably end up getting it on DVD, just because I must own every DVD on planet Earth. (Yes, even yours.)

I give it a 3 on your 0-4 scale. Non-stop action, with a very good flow, humor was very well done and I loved the overhead shots. The Rock can carry a line, hear me Aflack.

My friends want to see this movie. I wanted to see Underworld EVEN though I heard it sucked from almost everybody. I thought this movie would suck even more.

I liked it, probably because I didn't have high expectations but it did keep me entertained. The Rock was pretty good in it.

Scale from 1-10 I give it a 6.5. I didn't care for the ending fight scene that much.

I had been looking forward to The Rundown for awhile because the initial trailers were pretty damn hilarious. Walken is always money, and I've seen The Rock's good comedic performances in the WWF/WWE. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed. Definitely a highly entertaining action flick.
