Samurai Jack Thread: Is the end coming?

Nightfall

Sage of the Scarred Lands
I think yes...and I for one am happy in some respects. Why? Because unlike some animations, the main characters, the protagonist and the antagonist have been developed very well. We understand them. We can see them tangiblily. And I think we can all agree that while more confrontations for Jack would be great, the Samurai has a mission. And he will complete it. It might not be as long as some might like it, but I think we can say Jack has mastered more in THIS time than he did in his own time. So now I can say I can't wait for the final confrontation. And maybe the Samurai win! I admit it. Aku is just THAT believeable a villian for me. I love him for his style, hate him for his "traps" and other stuff. He might not be as devious as some. But Aku is evil to the core. I still think my favorite Aku moment has to be when Demongo failed Aku. And Demongo is pleading for his life...and Aku says "Nah!!" I laughed and was horrified at the same time. Aku rocks! :)

Aku is one of the greatest villians ever created. But Samurai Jack is perhaps the greatest hero ever created. I do not want to see the series ending after only forty or so episodes, but I have to admit they have covered a great deal of ground in the past episodes. I would rather the show end on a high note than continue into mediocrity. I would really rather the show continue on a high note for a long time, but if the creator does not think that is possible I can understand.

Given the episode with the Knight, who was guarding the time portal, I expect that Jack will have to unite everyone across the land against Aku. Perhaps Aku cannot be defeated through the blade alone. Perhaps he feeds off of the evil he creates and spreads across the land. Indeed, since Jack has been turning back this oppressive evil, it may be that which has hurt Aku most. I expect Aku is ordering those monolthic statues of himself built for more of a reason than simple ego.

After all, he was once a godlike entity. Perhaps he seeks to return to his former status by creating a focal point for the energies upon which he is based. Perhaps the only way to beat Aku permanently is to strengthen everyones spirits with good, righteous qualities that will drain him of his power. Anyway, just a theory. Given that the blade alone was not enough to truly defeat Aku when he first appeared, I doubt it will be enough to truly finish him now. I really think the series does a great job tying itself into previous episodes. Jacks father did say that the mind and the heart were the true key to defeating Aku.

Yes but some might believe if you compare series, Kenshin to be the greatest. I don't quite believe that. Jack is definately capable of fighing evil even without his sword! I don't think Rounin Kenshin is in the same league on that point. The better swordsman...now there's a question for the ages. But certainly both characters I feel are the greatest to be seen in a long while.

You raise some good points. Certainly there have been times where Jack came very close to killing Aku...and failed. Does that mean the sword isn't enough? I certainly think it's a factor. The fact he was so powerful. scare me a lot. In terms of if he gets that power back can he ever be undone? Just have to see. I certainly think the human spirit plays a large part on how Jack will win or loose. Just have to wait and see.
