Next week Apple will launch the windows version of iTunes and open the iTunes Music Store to Windows users. Better warm up your credit cards. ;)

Will it start shipping with windows iPods next week as well? I've wanted an iPod for a while now, but I won't get one until it comes with iTunes instead of MusicMatch (having used both programs, Apple actually wins for once, and by a lot in this case).

Not a lot of details yet, so...

lets speculate (the one joy of being a Mac user... >heavy sarcasm dosage<)!!!

Knowing Apple they probably will include it with the iPod. Why? Apple usually packs their software with their hardware (though not all the same software goes on all the different hardware).
How they will include it is anyones guess. Could be a CD, could even be on the pods hard disk. I hope they do not make anyone download it though... it is Apple though so anything could be done.

I have a Nomad, iTunes is useless to me.

I know the Nomad II, II MG, II c, Jukebox, Jukebox 20GB, and Jukebox C work with iTunes 3. What works with the Windows version of iTunes is anyone's guess, until Thursday gets here.

The iTunes Music Store will most certainly work with iTunes. My guess is it will also work with MusicMatch for a while, too. As for updating, I suspect they will offer a small firmware update for the iPod. As for the software, iTunes should be made available as a free download from Apple's website.

I've used Apple's music store, as well as a couple others. Apple's is very slick.

Oh, I didn't realize that. I'm Canadian, anyway, so point is moot. We just got a place called Puretracks, though, but it's pretty fledgling still.

I downloaded the Windows version at work and I've been messing around with it. It's really fantastic. They did a great job with it. I'm using the Radio feature and streaming Beethoven Radio right now. But I've been browsing the store, listening to samples, etc. Very nice. (NOTE: it may not work through all corporate firewalls--the iTunes will always work as an MP3 player.)

Am I seeing double or are you on the maccentral forums also...?

Be nice to know I am not the only who reuses their screen name.
