Converting fiends - what do I need to do?

Sorry if this is thwe wrong area.

I'm converting the cataboligne demon from dragon 295 (i think) to 3.5.

What specific things do I need to do?

I need to make sure that skill points and feats are in line with the new rules for monsters having skills and feats per HD.

I need to make sure that none of its spell likes have been altered.

I need to change it's DR to five less and magic.

What else. Did other immunities etc. change significantly. If this going to have a significant effect on CR?

Any help would be much appreciated.

My advice is that you take this in two steps.

Step 1: Convert the creature from 2E to 3E, using the 3E Conversion Manual.

Step 2: Convert it then from 3E to 3.5E, using the 3.5E Accessory Update Booklet.

It was already 3e... but I hadn't even thought to look at the update booklet. Doh!

If it's a 3.0 demon, you may also want to give it a bunch of extra HD. Outsiders in 3.0 tended to have pitiful HD for their CR, making them way too easy.

And many of the spell like abilities and so seem to have changed as well... the DR changed too.

You'll probably want to up its HD to around 13.
Some of its stats may need to be upped as well, namely Con, and Cha, although its Strength could use a boost as well.
You could also drop its Aci and cold resistance to 10 each, although you don't have to, but most other outsiders had their resistances dropped to around that.

From 9 to 13? Ok, cool. I'll drop the resistances if that's what the standard is, make the DR 10/good or cold iron and probably up con and cha.
