Fields of Blood at press - Late November ship date

Now that the Angel RPG was sent to press... we seem to be catching up a bit on our production schedule.

Today we sent the long awaited Fields of Blood d20 mass combat sourcebook to press as well as the Atlas of the Walking Dead, a collection of zombies and other undead monsters from around the world for All Flesh Must Be Eaten.

Our printer is trying their best to ensure we have these books in warehouse by Thanksgiving so we can have them on the shelves by end of the month, if not sooner. Make sure you have your preorders in with your local game store or place them online with us. Thanks for your support and patience.

Next week once we see proofs - Ill post some new previews. Thanks again.

What's the page count on Fields of War? I ask because it notes the price at $30 at softcover, similiar to one of the bigger AEG one word books. Has there been a format change from hardcover to softcover as indicated in this release or is that bad info?

Final page count came in at 176 pages.

Change is from hardcover to softcover. This was a cost to preorder decision.

Definitely looking forward to this. I really hate trying to figure out information for armies.

(Yes, I do have Cry Havoc and have set aside time to read it later this week. :D )

I'm glad to hear (or in this case read) about when it's coming out. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this one though I just bought Cry Havoc but haven't looked through it yet. I will say that I'm a little disappointed that it's softcover now.

Fields of Blood sound very similar to the Birthright Campaign Setting to me, or rather Birthright without the setting material and with a focus on the combat side of things. I currently run a play by e-mail game using the Birthright rules with 17 realm regents, 6 temple regents, 6 guild regents, and 3 wizards and it all runs fairly smoothly. The only place Birthright really fails for this sort of campaign is the combat rules, which don't work well with huge battles. So I will certainly be very interested to see this product.

I do have a couple of quick questions though...

Will the rules for governing nations also cover merchants, temples, etc, or will they focus solely on the king/baron/whatever?

Will Fields of Blood feature realm magic, that is hugely powerful spells that can effect and entire region or realm?

Will the battle magic be similar to the War Spells featured in Dragon 309? (which were in turn based on the Birthright battle spells from the Book of Magecraft)

I'm also disappointed in the change in cover format. Nevertheless it won't stop me from looking over the product.

Just so you know, you got a lot riding on this long-awaited product. It's been two years in the making. Some who once impatiently waited for it have already written it off as vaporware. And then there are those who are seriously looking for such a political system that is on par with Birthright (minus the all bloodline mystical rules), even moreso.

Can you deliver this to your waiting customers? As one who have great patience for your product, I really hope so.
