and if you have the wherewithall to actually work your way through all 1,296 manufacturer entries, you can rummage on The Miniatures Page for more manufacturers of suitable minis. - http://theminiaturespage.com/man/

Looking for more vehicles? Diecast replicas and plastic or resin model kits in 1/60(30mm) to 1/76(20mm) scale will look approximately right with 25-28mm minis, depending upon the type of vehicle (a 1/76 scale tank looks more "right" than a 1/76 scale motorcycle or car, for example)

Long Gone Miniatures for your ebaying pleasure
Grendel - Made resin vehicles for at least one scifi game (kryomek), including a recon car that looks very much like the spinner from blade runner.
RAFM - the old large scale Heavy Gear figures make excellent man-sized suits of power armor. They also manufactured some minis for Cyberpunk, a personality (non-mecha) minis for Mekton, both of which were suitable for a modern genre game

Hey, I love the list, it reads like the one I keep right here ;^)

I loved how ol' Wiz'O'Sith shut down that other thread (can you say 'closed and links deleted, thank ya very much'), he's a pretty nice guy, doing a not-so-fun job, but... well, never mind, it's their boards they can do whatever they want.

Though I fail to see how someone could think that Wizards actually competes with *anything* that's on this list... even if they made modern minis, well, it still wouldnt compete ;^)

I agree absolutely. However, I'll just database the list and put a link to a dynamic web page and stick it in my sig. Then people can sort it by military minis, modern, vehicles, price range, scale, etc. See how he likes that. LOL

Oh, and I have to say, for Modern miniatures I think that the Coppletstone stuff is my favorite for the money. Em4 Miniatures sells the older line that Copplestone sculpted at incredibly good prices, and the new Copplestone stuff is pretty good (you can tell that Mark sculpted them both pretty obviously). So the em4/copplestone stuff, IMO, is the best bang for your buck. All have good sculpts with nice relatively realistic proportions

The Stone Circle Games Chintatown minis are just fabulous, if a little more expensive, especially if you ever loved Big Trouble In Little China. Great minis with good, detailed sculpts (if a touch on the cartoony side)

Foundry has probably some of the coolest sculpts, but I have yet to find them at a price I like (except for a few lucky batches off of ebay). The cool thing about foundry is that the blister packs come with a small set of extra weapons for your converting needs, which is nice. You can also find some sculpts that are very much like Mark Copplestone's work, I believe he once worked with Foundry.
