Another one from my wife - The Abyssal Crawler

Gospog

First Post
My wife (Fluffaderm on the boards) has just finished this ugly brute.

My players can expect to see him popping up soon in one (or more) of our games!

That's pretty good.

My wife has a latent talent for painting miniatures as well. Even though she doesn't game. She did for a bit, but got tired of it. I'll have to post some of her minis on here sometime. She's better at it than I.

Cthulhu's Librarian is correct! It is in fact a Chronopia miniature.

When we sit down to paint (all to rarely), I usually handle the units and characters (RPG and otherwise) and my wife tackles the "Big Fuglies".

Chronopia, and it's sci-fi twin, Warzone, offer some fantastic large resin/metal kits for a variety of monsters and vehicles. (and both are excellent games in their own right).

I would still play Warzone, if I didn't find the VOR rules more versatile, and therefore, more useful to my eclectic miniatures collection.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll pass this link on to my wife! :)

Wow that is an amazing paint job!
That fig looks great.

Just one little hijack of your thread in case you didn't know-

Warzone is still in production by Excelsior Entertainment and very soon the newly improved, and revised, rulebook will be released.

Also if anyone is interested in getting the above mini it can be found in their store as well ;)

(No I don't work for Excelsior, I'm just a fan.
I have VOR too and sadly it is a dead system...too bad because it was looking to become the Best system.)

But back On Topic, that is a sweet looking mini!
And I bet it will make for some really good gaming :D

Well, it's my thread, so I guess it's ok to hijack it myself. ;)

Paulewog, I hear that a lot (about VOR being dead)and it always makes me laugh.

The focal point of VOR (for my group of gamers, at least) is the Custom Force Creation System. It allows you to assign balanced scores to absolutely any model, whether it is a "VOR model" or not.

So, in effect, as long as someone, anyone is producing miniatures that I want to buy, VOR isn't dead. At least the rules are still viable.

Mind you, I'm not trying to argue semantics. I understand that the VOR meta-plot died with FASA, and I agree that stinks. But with hundreds of miniatures from VOR, VOID, Warzone, Chronopia, Warhammer 40K and more, VOR is still the "one mini system to rule them all for me". ;)

OK, now back to your regularly scheduled thread!

*sniff* He's. . . he's beautiful. Nice work!

No! You keep away!!!!

Ahem. I mean, thanks, PC! ;)

In other Abyssal Crawler news, it just got used for the first time in yesterdays Shadow Chasers game Season Finale! I used it as a subterranean beast raised by a cult of Renegade Xorn living under the Santa Cruz mountains.

It got jacked by the group's resident Psi-Blade, but the Shadow Chasers were "smart" enough to save a yet-unhatched egg, keeping it in thier home base. Of course, there's NO WAY that's going to come back to haunt them in Season Two... ;)
