Looking for d20 Modern resources

First Post
I'm getting ready to lay the groundwork for a d20 Modern campaign that will be starting up the first week of January. Odds are it will be an Urban Arcana/Shadow Chasers-style game set in modern day.

What I'm interested in finding out is what websites and PDF products that are good resources for d20 Modern. I own a boatload of Polyhedron magazines and the d20 Modern hardbacks, but I don't know if there are good sites or PDF products that are good resources for the game.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm...
I have to say that the Blood line of modern books from RPGObjects is really good (Blood and Relics, Blood and Fists {review 1, review 2}, Blood and Guts {review}, Blood and Guts: War on Terror); The Modern Player's Companion 1 {review links}, and Modern Player's Companion 2 {review} by The Game Mechanics are also VERY well done; and I would be completely remiss if I didn't give a BIG thumbs up to Modern Backdrops {review} by RPGObjects.

These are all available at RPGNow, and most are available in hardcopy, as well.
Good luck with the campaign!

I have to add my 'second' to all of those; good works each and every one. I like the "Blood and..." series quite a bit (especially Blood and Fists for a martial arts type game), consider the Modern Player's Companion essential to any Modern game (it's the stuff that should have been in the core book), and Modern Backdrops will save you more work than you'll ever know.

Well, I'll point out Big Bang: The Mostly Illustrated RPG Guide to Modern Weapons, which covers all manner of weapons manufactured from the 1870's to present. Good idea to buy now, since you can get 5 volumes of the series for a mere $15.00 if you buy by Christmas. Yeah, I wrote the series and you may consider me biased, but I never would have started writing the books had other publishers done a decent job with the same subject matter...

Early next year, two new general sourcebook series get added to the production schedule. First is Edge Road, which will cover the bleeding edge of the latest technologies useful for a modern genre RPG.

Second is Lost Destinations, which will illustrate to you that the real world is strange enough without needing to add Urban Arcana or Shadow Chasers to your game. The first volume of Lost Destinations focuses on the freakish gems hidden in the cultural wasteland known as New Jersey, where you'll find such oddities as a village of dwarves who keep taller folks out with the application of lethal force, a community that was rumored to have been massacred one night 25 years ago by roaming cultists from the midwest, and a road to nowhere upon which travellers have reported seeing anything ranging from UFOs overhead to feral subhumans on the side of the road.

Other upcoming PDF projects between now and May is The Modern Player's Handbook from RPGObjects.

I suggest *anything* by RPGObjects or The Game Mechanics. Green Ronin publishes print versions of TGM's PDF works, and RPGObjects usually has print runs of their PDFs as well.

And Green Ronin's Ultramodern Firearms is the best of the firearms books out there for d20 Modern.

Good thread! I could use the resources.

By the way, does anyone know if any supplements are in the works that are more "X-Files" in feel then what's been coming out? I try to avoid bugbears as cops and such.

Closest you'll find right now is "The International Protection Agency". Unfortunately, at best, it is modestly useful, since there was apparently no editor attached to the project to give it a clear goal for presentation. The end result is a rather rambling, unorganized presentation that seems oddly stuck in the canadian backwoods like a washed up RCMP officer, rather than a prestigious competitor to Department 7.

You're better off picking up a few books for Conspiracy X and adapting those for your campaign.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to take a look at Conspiracy X. I must admit that I haven't heard of that book/brand yet. Woops! The only d20 books I've seen, really are the Urban Arcana stuff, which just isn't for me. Thanks for the heads up. I really need to start looking into stuff instead of just waiting for info to drop into my lap. ;)

IIRC, Conspiracy X was produced by Eden Studios. SJG also produced GURPS: Conspiracy X. try www.edenstudios.net for more details. Try to avoid allowing the Army of Darkness RPG to distract you too much.
