A large ball looking creature, with blood red skin stands in front of you. You see its overly large mouth, and for small eyes. Its for stubby feet seam to carry it at a good pace as it comes toward you.

If abyssal maw are known as a big walking mouth, the abyssal mouther is known as a bigger walking mouth. A true tannari’ri unlike its lesser kin. The abyssal mouther’s have ben known to eat a centaur in a few seconds. Commonly used as second wave shock troops in a fight.

Combat
Abyssal mothers more so then there lesser kin love to tear there opponts in little peaces and such don’t use much but there mouth in combate. There bit as been known to kill even after they have ben killed.

Augmented Critical (Ex): The abyssal mouthers bite attack threatens a critical hit on a natural attack roll of 18-20, dealing triple damage on a successful critical hit.

Poison (Ex): Injury, Fortitude DC 19, initial damage 1d6 Con, secondary damage 1d6 Con. The save DC is Constitution-based.

Rend Fallen (Ex): An anyssal mouther loves to tear into its downed foes. It automatically deals an additional 2d6+12 points of damage to any foe it drops with a melee attack.

Summon Tanar’ri (Sp): Once per day, an abyssal mouther can attempt to summon another abyssal mouther with a 60% chance of Success.

Increased Damage (Ex): Because of their sharp teeth abyssal mouthers deal damage as if they were one size larger.

*See the Miniatures handbook for this feat (other wise use Power Attack).

If I were to apply my demon template to an advanced Abyssal Maw (MM II), I would get something very similar to this creature.

A couple of questions/recommendations:

1. Shouldn't it be able to use greater teleport? I think all (or virtually all) demons of 6 HD or greater have this ability.

2. Shouldn't the damage be 3d8? (The base creature is 2d8, and p. 291 of the MM suggests that 2d8->3d8 on a size increase). I suppose you were going by the table on page 296 of the MM, weren't you?

3. Shouldn't the rend the fallen damage be the same as the base damage? (As per the Abyssal Maw.)

4. Isn't it a little too fast? (speed for an Abyssal Maw is only 30. 40 could be ok, but 50 is a bit much, imho)

5. How many skill points does it have? I count 66, which is more than a 6 HD outsider with an intelligence of 8 should have. Also, it seems like it has 10 ranks in a number of skills, which is more than the cap of 9 for a 6 HD creature.

That it be poisonous seems a little odd. Few demons have a poison bite, and few creatures with a huge bite attack also poison their victims/prey.

Its made to be close but not that close.

Also not all demons (even with 6HD or more) have Greater telaport.

Ok the its bump up bye a feat I based it off the base creatures damage before the feat.

Its also faster (in most ways) then the Maw.

On the skills I might have went one above on all the skills it has opps on my part ill change that in a few days.

Yes Jester I changed my name. This is the one I wanted when I first came (messed up my email when I got it so I needed another name las was it).

Also thanks :).

Oh, well, I'm glad you got it then! :D

Once again, I like this fella- I'll have to use him one of these days. I dig the idea of a smart one using Improved Trip...
