Takamura Kane, Transformed Animal (Fox)

Kane always showed a great deal of promise, though to the wrong people; his childhood criminal stunts attracted both Yakuza and Triad attention, and both tried to recruit him. He thought he'd managed to play them off each other until a couple months ago. Trying a major caper with a group of similarly talented freelancers (a la Ocean's Eleven), he found himself the only one left alive, all of his teammates either vanished or cleanly killed. Thinking he recognized Yakuza work, and certain that his survival was only a momentary oversight, he fled Honshu to Hong Kong, trying to go to ground.

Kane's appearance is memorable, much to his chagrin; his slight, wiry build is not uncommon among Japanese, but his green eyes and red lock of hair certainly set him apart from the crowd. He dresses to fit in, preferring hoods or high collars when possible.

Scene: A man hangs in the air in a darkened room, the only light a single beam of antiseptic arclight revealing two heavy chains hooked into the man's back. He spins slowly, his blonde hair almost as white as the scar tissue on his face forming the kanji symbol for the word "Dead" etched deep into his right cheek. Parts of what must have been Yakuza tattoos are still visible on his chest, but other parts fade out in a haze of scarring, burns, or cuts.

"Ah, Kiriyama-sama, I see you are awake. The boss has a present for you."

The man snaps his head up at the sound, his eyes taking only a second to focus on the shape of his tormentor. A shadowed figure steps forward and stretchs his arms out, revealing what he is carrying: a human head. The dangling man's gaze goes slack for a moment, and his body follows, forcing the hooks on the chains deeper into his back.

"Yes, I see you recognize the face of your father. Come now Shinji, surely this must convince you that there is no escape. Go back to work, and all will be forgiv...."

The shadowed form never finishes his statement as Shinji's body drops from the hooks, a wet tearing sound reverberating through the small room as the hooks pull free of his back. A second later the shadowy man is dead, his nose driven up through his brain with a single palm thrust. Shinji pauses only a second to look back at what is left of his father before he grabs his clothes and slips away, planning his escape and his revenge as he goes...

He only has a couple of outfits currently, since he fled Japan in a hurry, so he wears a pair of loose plaid slacks, a black sleeveless shirt, and a dark purple trenchcoat. He also typically wears a pair of fingerless gloves.

John "Jack" Frost, Spy

Frost was one of MI6's best and brightest, up until the Oslo Incident. After Oslo, he was drummed out of the service. Now he's at loose ends. He's recieved a few job offers from less than reputable parties, but he still retains just enough self respect to refuse - he could never bring himself to consciously betray Her Majesty's government, which is why he's still alive.

Frost is in Hong Kong because he was happy there once. He's slowly beginning the arduous process of drinking himself to death, but what he really wants, deep down, is a chance at redemption.

Physically, Frost is tall, good looking, and has dark blond hair. At his peak, he liked to wear white suits, topped off with a white trenchcoat when being particularly melodramatic. At the moment, he's scruffy, unshaven, and doesn't wear a single white article of clothing. Hugh Grant would play him in the movie.

Jadefinger Long, Contract Assassin

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

The three men gaped in horror as their leader slumped to the ground, two 9mm slugs in his brain and a third in his chest. His killer was a man in his early forties with an immaculate white double-breasted ensemble and a jade ring on the ring finger of his right hand. The Heckler and Koch USP smoked in his hand.

"KILL HIM!" one of the three men cried.

The killer blew both of the speaker's kneecaps out and followed up with a double-tap to the head. As the other two raised their guns, he dove between them, smashed in one man's shin with the barrel of the USP, then grabbed him by the collar and unloaded five rounds into his guts, the shots going through to hit his partner.

He dropped the man in his hand at the same time the other man hit the floor.

As the echoes of gunfire passed, the killer looked at his clothes and wrinkled his nose. Getting blood out of white was one of the most frustrating things in the world, but that's the price he paid for wearing it.

He grabbed his cellphone and dialed a number. "Jadefinger here. The job is complete. Have one of your men take care of my clothes when I get back. The usual percentage of the money goes to America. That will be all."

Jadefinger Long, Killer
Juncture: Contemporary

MELODRAMATIC HOOK: Jadefinger wanted to keep his son Victor out of the Triads. He paid for Victor's college education in America with the money that he made from the hits he carried out. But when Jadefinger visited his son's dorm one terrible night, he made a grim discovery that confirmed his worst fears: a disassembled sniper rifle and a small fortune in various currencies in a hidden closet compartment. Only one question remains in Jadefinger's mind now: Who put my son on the road to hell?

Bi Jiao Mao AKA 'Kami'

The tension about the table is real, palpitable. It hangs heavy in the air, like the harsh layer of cigarette smoke that stains the walls of the dimly lit room. The lights and sounds of Monaco seem a world away, despite being just outside the hotel suite. Here is where the high rollers battle to the death, cards thier weapons, guile thier shield. Fortunes are lost, won, and lost again from hand to hand. The world's elite gather in these dark rooms, thier struggles very real, but unseen, unlauded.
This is Bi Jiao Mao's world and tonight is his night. His opponent has much more wealth than sense. The 'gentleman' doesn't belong here. He belongs on the casino floor where his swagger and bravado might mean something. Where the casino would cater to his ego and stroke his pride. In this room, he's nothing but a sheep to be fleeced, and right now he's feeling naked, despite the $5,000 suit and the 4 bodyguards.
"Gahh!" The 'gentleman' slams his hand onto the table, snarling at Mao with hatred in his eyes. "You're cheating. I know you're cheating, I just don't know how."
Mao shakes his head, "I've done everything I can to reassure you. My sleeves are rolled up, we've a casino dealer, the decks have been changed thrice and you've broke the seals on each. If you're so convinced of my dishonesty, leave, but don't insult me again."
"I'll call you anything I want, you son of a ...." Just as he was about to say something he would regret, the cocktail waitress interupted.
"Can I get you gentlemen refills?" Suki is a sweet girl, and she and Mao had shared more than drinks in thier past.
Frustrated, the gentleman just nods, watching Mao intently.
Unnerved by the tension in the room, Suki's hand shakes slightly as she refills the man's brandy. As she draws back, the bottle's lip catches his snifter, tipping it over into his lap.
The gentleman sits unmoving as Suki tries to apologize, staring at her with cold, dead eyes. Embarassed, she lowers her head and awaits his reprimand. She's couldn't have expected him to hit her.
His hand, barely a blur of motion, smashes into Suki's cheek, sending her flying to the floor in disarry. She looks back up, tears full of eyes and blood streaming from her lips.
Now, normally Mao is a very calm, centered man. Please understand that he's spent several hours bearing this boorish man's accusations and insults. Even at that, he'd have weathered insults all night without resorting to violence. But to strike a woman, especially one he's personally fond of... Mao could never have let that pass. Snatching up the bottle of brandy Suki sat on the table, Mao lashed out, shattering it against the gentleman's temple in a sudden outpouring of rage.
Mao looks to the broken bottle in his hand, then to the 'gentleman' sliding unconscious to the floor, then to the quartet of bodyguards, all drawing guns.

Eiji stood impatiently by a payphone in the Shichuhara Mall waiting for a call from the boss. Every so often he'd direct a lewd smile at passing women, reveling in their horrified reactions as they hurried past. Each time it would cheer him up for a moment, but then he'd sink into a foul mood again. After what seemed like ages, the phone rang.

"Hello? Yeah. They all paid."

"Another job? Shinji, you say? And who's the other? I see. Hong Kong, both of them? You don't want them back alive, do you?"

"Good. I'll be right over."

Eiji isn't the subtle type at all. He's obnoxious, loud, and does his best to intimidate people. His martial art style reflects this; he specializes in hard strikes and counterattacks, emphasizing power over skill.

Last seen on the streets of the Western District in Hong Kong, presumably gunned down by fellow yakuza during a fight with Shinji Kiriyama. Some know better than to think a couple of bullets will keep him down, however...

Tony quietly stalked through the meat-packing plant looking for his target. The lights were out, and only a little light spilled through the one open door to the next room.

It was cold as hell, but he was warmed up by the excitement. He could practically smell blood in the air as he weaved through the carcasses hanging from meat hooks.

"Come on now, Mr. Liu," he called out in a mocking tone, "I'm quite busy tonight. You're not the only one I have to kill tonight, you know."

"We're friends! Mark sees you as his own son! Why would you do this?", Harry Liu shouts in response from the darkness.

With a roll of the eyes and an exaggerated sigh, Tony replies. "It's just good business, Mr. Liu. I got a better deal. And Mark? Well, he'll be seeing his real son soon enough."

"You bastard!" Harry shouts as he steps out into the opening and squeezes the trigger of his AK-47. Harry sprays the room with hot lead as he tries to nail Tony Shen from behind. One of the bullets scrapes through Tony's arm.

Tony uses the force of the bullet to spin and kneel in one motion and spots Harry Liu by the muzzle flare of his assault rifle.

"Bingo."

Tony Shen, Ex-Triad and All-Around Bastard

Bod 7, Chi 0 (For 1), Mnd 5, Ref 8

Known Skills: Guns +15, ??

Known Schticks: Both Guns Blazing(?), ??

Tony Shen was the best friend of Mark Huan's son, James. When James died in a hit from a rival gang several years ago, Mark began to regard Tony Shen as his own son, and took him under his wing in the Han Bao Triad. Tony took to his duties in the Triad with relish, and quickly built a reputation as a cold-blooded killer and somebody to avoid.

Sentiment doesn't run nearly as deep as blood, however. In an apparent defection to the Black Dragon Tongs he murdered his would-be father and escaped the ensuing battle - but not without making a few new enemies first.

Tony is easy to spot in a crowd; he prefers flashy clothes and has his haid dyed a bright red. He's rarely seen nowadays without an entourage of low-lifes and thugs.
