Reaper/Necromancer Games question

I may be mistaken, but I thought I remember hearing quite a while ago (last year?) that Reaper Miniatures and Necromancer games were going to be "teaming up" and Reaper would be providing a list of miniatures that were recommended for representing monsters and NPCs in various Necromancer products. Am I just imagining this? Was it another company that they were doing this with? Or was it a fan site that was doing it?

I seem to remember hearing something like that too so you're not imagining it. You might want to visit the Necromancer Message boards or the publisher's forum too.

The miniatures have been coming out; I don't know about the list proper. If you look at the various Dark Heaven releases, you'll note a couple that are fairly heavily inspired by the Tome of Horrors, such as the two-headed troll. There are some that are certainly compatible with Necromancer stuff, such as the frog-people (Necromancer loves their frog people almost as much as they love their portly goat-head demon lords). There are also a tone of "first edition feel" miniatures that Reaper does, such as certain demons and other monsters.

The figures aren't specially marked on the packages, though. And if there's a list, Reaper isn't the one making it (to my knowledge).

I know they are coming out (I pick up a few of the new Reaper minis every month at my FLGS), I was just wondering what ever happened to this project that I remember hearing about. I remember seeing an initial list for 1 or 2 adventures, but nothing else. I go see what I can find on Reaper's & Necro's boards. Thanks for the replies!

I do recall something about Reaper getting into the D20 business, I think they released an adventure with a list in the back of miniatures, and there's also (supposedly) a guide to their "campaign world" coming out. Maybe that's what you were thinking. There was the thing with them and Necromancer, but I'm wondering if you've just confused two seperate things.

I know that Reaper released an adventure, but this was something different. I remember that there was a website that showed many of the Reaper minis, all painted up, and had the corresponding monsters/NPCs from an adventure that someone else published, and I'm pretty sure it was Necromancer. I picked up a few of the minis on the list since I already owned the adventure, and I was wondering if anything else ever happened with this idea. I thought it was a great concept, both to sell more minis and to save people some time from digging through the tons of mini pics on Reapers website.

Necro and Reaper

Actually, they have done many of our models from TOH, Vampires and Liches, and a few other books. Ron has even crafted my iconic PC models that we use at conventions for pregen's...check out my favorite wizard model...with a 2-bladed sword!
