Exposed capatalism

no more than:
In-Product Cross-Promo: Buy!
or
- play and purchase regularly

Which is to say, yes, but its part of this capatalist culture, and as far as making people want something they didn't use to and then selling it to them, I'd rather people buy D&D than cigarettes or McDonald's Happy Meals.

Of course I'd rather people buy D&D than cigarettes or something worse, but they could of used the word ' loyalist ' in place of ' evangelist ' and avoided the patronizing negative connotation without changing the meaning.

loyalist vs. evangelist

Well, I don't think these slides were targeted at us, and I think evangelist gives a better description of what they want. I think that while a loyalist is happy to help people learn D&D (passively recruiting, one might say), an evangelist is actively recruiting people, and they want the latter. YMMV

Not to me. It is, really, what we should be doing to grow the hobby and D&D in particular.

One thing that really did hit me in the reviews of the D&D movie were the almost constant comments of 'That's still around?'. That's gotta be a huge red flag for any of the marketing people.

Er, did some new adventures get mentioned somewhere.

Anyway, hope you guys playing the adventures are lucky with your booster packs. ;)

Only for Eberron. :) Oh, and I guess in the Basic set.

Actually - they mentioned a new focus for Dragon and Dungeon. That might be it.

Cheers!
