You see a bulky humanoid creature covered in metallic teal plates. Its arms end in powerful pincers, it has broad shoulders and no neck, insect-like eyes and an oversized and exposed brain. Reddish fluid leaks from the cracks in its armored carapace.

The Metalunan mutant is an insectile humanoid bred by the Metalunans as guards and beasts of burden.

The Metalunans are an alien race undistinguishable from humans except for their high foreheads and emotional detachment. They claim that mutants are much like normal insects, “larger of course, and adapted to our atmosphere”. These Metalunans didn’t know what they were talking about. Mutants are fairly clever and are much more like a human (or Metalunan) than any insect.

Mutants are used as labor by the Metalunans, who created and enslaved them. Although there are rumors of free mutant colonies on Metaluna and on other planes and planets, most dismiss these as just a fiction. Mutants speak a language of clicks and buzzing, and understand the Metalunan tongue.

Combat
Metalunan mutants are not subtle combatants. They rush headlong into melee, tearing opponents with their claws. Mutants are well known for being implacable opponents, and will follow a fleeing foe for miles.

Impeded Fortification (Ex): The armor plates of a Metalunan mutant help protect its vulnerable organs, but, ironically, its brain is almost entirely exposed. Critical hits and sneak attacks have a 50% chance of inflicting only normal damage against a mutant, but if they succeed, a critical hit deals an extra multiplier of damage (a greatsword dealing x3 damage, or a pick x5) and a sneak attack deals an extra 2d6 damage.

Improved Carrying Capacity (Ex): Metalunan mutants are treated as Large quadrupeds for determining how many pounds they can carry.

Rend (Ex): A Metalunan mutant that hits with both claws latches onto the flesh of its foe and tears, dealing an extra 2d6+10 points of damage.

Thank you both for your compliments. Now, what should be the next preview, the crawling eye, or the plaything (my name for the Ee-Vil Toy Monkey from Merlin's Shop of etc). Or maybe the Krankorians?
