You do realize that Alan Scott was the first Green Lantern to appear with the name. Hal Jordan was a Silver Age retcon like Barry Allen's Flash was the retcon version of Jay Garrick's Flash. I liked all versions but if I had a choice Alan Scott would go back to being Green Lantern.

Was Hal Jordon actually dead? I thought that he had become the Spectre? Yeah sure, that's a ghost-like superhero, but as long as he kept showing up regularly I'd hardly consider that being gone.

Blast! I was gonna post this thread. I just thought: "I'm gettin' late, I'll do it in the morning." You snooze, you loose, I guess.

Well, he's dead. As such. But gone he isn't. The Spectre he is. Geoff Johns seems to be setting the whole Rebirth thing up on the Specter/Hal Jordan end of things over in JSA now. Jordan's loosing control over the power of redemption or something like that, which is breaking his connection with the Sprectre force. Or something. Also Geoff Johns alluded at this rebirth quite some time ago in The Flash when Barry Allen told Hal that "...he's nearly there."

I guess Ron Marz's short run will take of setting up the event on the GL end of things.
