Think back to the classic modules for the original roleplaying game. Do you remember words on a page, or a portal into unlimited fantasy? On August 19th, that gateway will be opening again: Behemoth3 will be launching its new series of d20 monster modules with the Official Masters and Minions Tournament at Gen Con. All entrants will receive a signed copy of the tournament module for each of the three advancement rounds as they compete for the ultimate prize: a deluxe set of the complete Masters and Minions first-run releases, including a folio of full-color illustrations and a limited edition slipcover personally signed by all four creators (who are also the tournament DMs!).
Monster modules are Behemoth3’s update on the concept of the dungeon module. Each module focuses on one of the iconic monsters from the world’s most popular RPG and unleashes its untapped potential by presenting four new creatures to serve as its masters and minions. The adventure showcased in the tournament is only one of the infinite possibilities that players and DMs can explore together using the new races, feats, spells, magic items, treasures, and lairs they will find in each Masters and Minions Horde Book.
In the qualifying round of the Official Tournament at Gen Con, eight third-level heroes will try to survive in a swamp full of Stirges. Forty initial seats are available in five different time slots on Thursday and Friday. Twenty-four players will advance their characters to level 9 so that they can master the maze of the Minotaur in three semi-final slots on Saturday. Only the greatest eight will go all the way to level 16 and face the rage of the Remorhaz in Sunday’s championship round; their names will be honored forever in the annals of Masters and Minions!
