CbP - Discussion

Knight Otu

First Post
So, with our dragon hopefully nearing the final steps, I thought I'd create a thread for general discussion.

So first off - I don't think I'll ever do an age category monster again. Maybe very much later...

Second - Due to my absense a while back, the whole process was dragged out into infinity, or so it seems. I fear due to that, we lost a lot of potential interest.

Third - I'm thinking, should I start a number 8, to try out a quite different process. That would be an experiment, of course, and even if successful, wouldn't totally replace the current process (some might guess what I want to try out).

Fourth - If there are any volunteers to take over the process, speak now!

Fifth - Just say what's on your mind regarding that whole thing (even, especially if it is "Get rid of Otu!" ;)).

1: I agree.
2: Actually, I think it was more the dragon concept that was choosen that did it. :p
3: Yes, that would be great!
4: Definetly not me.
5: You're doing a great job, despite what people might tell you.

Later,

In any case, the blame's on me. ;)
No, I disagree, the blame is on the people who voted for that concept. :D

Suspecting something already?
Nah, I just want to get started on the next one. ;)

Well, nobody told me anything. That's part of the problem. ;)
Well, if they didn't tell you anything, then it's best to assume everything is going great. :p

And they could only vote for it because I proposed it. There, blame's back on me, and there it stays!! :p

I'll do when this guy is finished. Maybe a little break between.

It is a bit of a troubling sign when someone with great interest in dragons does not involve himself in the creation of a dragon, isn't it? ;)

Blame the concept. :p You must have been drunk or had a fever when you suggested that one. :D

Hey Krishnath,

what in particular do you dislike so much about the concept? I think it's a novel idea with some interesting consequences. And that's even without the help of alcohol or otherwise impaired brain function. :)

PS: Just 'cuz you don't like it, doesn't mean you can't vote on the name. (And no, "crap dragon" is not a valid option. Although I did toy with the idea of suggesting to call it "Krishnath" in your honor. ;) )

Hmm... All of it? I knew from the start that it would be almost impossible to implement, also the concept itself strikes me as very un-draconic. :p

Already voted, and if you had named it after me, I would have been forced to hunt you down and kill you ;) (No not really, but I would have been forced to flame you into the stone age) :D

Maybe we should have called it....

...SCYLLA! ;)

That said, I understand that the concept isn't for everyone. Maybe I should make up for it by posting a more traditional untraditional dragon? ;)

For me, the concept is more like an elemental than a dragon. As for unconventional dragons, check out the Bestiary of Krynn dragonlance accessory, other than the four dragons in the start of the book (amphi, aquatic, fire, and frost dragons), there are five new draconian races, and a very odd diminutive dragon. The amphi and aquatic dragons are anything but conventional (the amphi dragon looks a lot like a monstrous toad), and the entire concept of draconians is in itself unconventional. But the most unconventional dragon is still the smallest, you should check it out.
