How big are regulation dice?

I was looking at buying some new dice .. after saving up for a while for them (they're stone dice).. and unless they're regulation size.. I don't think I will bother saving up..

So does anyone know how big regulation size are?

Well lets see, you got your four siders, while some prefer the 6 sided kind. Occasionally players will go with 8 siders or even 10 siders. I once saw I guy with a 12 sided die. Of course everyone can use the 20 sider. :p

Seriously though, there is no "regulation" per se. Its just a matter of whether or not you can tolerate smaller dice. I think 25mm might be the normal size, but can't recall to be honest.

Dice size doesn't matter. Really. And any woman who loves you will tell you so.

What?

Seriously, though, I have die ranging from the size of golfballs down to the size of a pair of asprin- as long as they aren't loaded, their size doesn't matter.

Ok. I didn't know if during games that are run by WOTC if they had regulations on size of dice or not (like Vegas).

I found a beautiful set that is 14mm and I love them.. they're just .. expensive.

I think the only time the dice size matters is when you have that one individual who never misses and the dice are always hot yet they're so small or unreadable (looking at you cthulu dice) that no one else can tell whats actually being rolled. And then it's more of a social contract to use different dice than an actual requirement.

Everyone says that, but I can read my cthulhu dice from across the table. Of course, no one would ever accuse my rolling of being hot.

I've found some well formed stone dice, but didn't buy them because not only were they pricy, but because in my opinion, I don't think they'd have stood up as well as plastic ones to the punishment of rolling...or grinding together in their carrying bag.

A guy I game with has the red and black ones. I can kind of read them if I get close. But just looking over, even when sitting next to him, they're almost impossible to read. I don't think he's cheating at all, but man they're hard to read
