December - What are you reading?

About 3/4 of the way through Triplanetary by E. E. "Doc" Smith. I guess it's a retrofitted prequel to his Lensman series which I planning on picking up next. Reads like a 50's sci-fi movie.

Reading Freakonomics. Interesting things it reveals. It's be nice if we could make every adopt policies that reflect the discoveries the book reveals.

After that, it'll be Cold Days, the next Dresden Files book.

Legend
The 4e "Eberron Campaign Setting".

I'm also about to start "The Worldwound Gambit" by Robin Laws.

My other books for this month are "The Mauritius Command" by O'Brian and "Emma" by Austen. Oh, and the latest Pathfinder when it arrives. Any three of those five will get me to my 52 for the year.

Brandon Sanderson's novella The Emperor's Soul. Intriguing magic system based, but there's a little too much explanation going on right now.

Still trying to find some time to get into the first book of Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Tales. December tends not to be a month where I get much pleasure reading accomplished.

I am also reading Freakonomics right now. Not sure what will come next (keep reading the Midgard campaign setting.....).

Currently reading The Last Policeman, a mystery set in the days just before a meteor is going to strike Earth. Highly readable and fast paced.

Finished Saladin Ahmed's Throne of the Crescent Moon, a highly enjoyable S&S novel in an Arabic setting. Memorable characters and situations.
