[WOIN] Future Core is very imminent...

I just sent back the final proofreading pass notes to layout. I don't intend to do another pass after that, so the book should be out very, very soon. Here's a quick look.

You know how the career and equipment books say "Requires the use of a WOIN core rulebook" on the cover? This one says "This is a WOIN core rulebook". You can use it with the Fantasy books, too (it's all compatible). The three Core books (Future Core, Fantasy Core, Modern Core) are pretty much the same book, although some extended task examples are different (Fantasy Core doesn't have rules for scanning, but it goes into tracking in a bit more detail, for example).

I'm so excited to get this one out. While it's been possible to play WOIN games for about a year now, this marks the date it's possible to *officially* play WOIN games. It's a milestone!

::sigh:: And I thought I was done buying RPG rulebooks. Excuse me while I go drum up some local support and a book fund...

Finally got around to reading through Future Core, and I really like the final result! In particular, it seems much more concise and clear than the playtest material I've last seen somewhere around last summer. I'm not sure if I can entice my regular party into it, but I'll be definitely looking up for players... BTW is there any premade adventures besides SANTIAGO1 for N.E.W.?

No, sadly not yet. I simply haven't had the time to write any adventures! And that Santiago adventure is pretty outdated - it uses playtest rules from long ago. I'm so busy getting these darn rulebooks out! It's one of those 'fails' which frustrates me - it's a clear no brainier to have a couple of adventures ready to launch with, but I'm only one man. If we're lucky, some fan (or publisher) will put something up.

I think most any sci-fi RPG adventure you can find at DTRPG would be fairly easily converted. Not ideal, true. I've put tons of creatures and enemies up on the website, so at least there's a bunch of bad guys to throw at your players!
