D&D 5E Full contents leak for Xanathar's Guide

I am very curious about the hexblade and the college of swords. While both were not too bad, they had very controversial or useless features. The hexblade's charisma attack is hopefully gone and I hope TWF works properly with blade flourish.

I am a bit sad that raven queen is not in. Would have fitted very well for the ravenloft adventure.

Finally we can escape the endless threads. Talk about falling for WotCs drip feed strategy. I'm dead tired of all these threads; none of which contain any actual content. This one is a refreshing change.
I rather like the drip feed. I got a little bit of D&D every day. Around noon each workday, I get to have a little surprise but if D&D and learn about a new class.
I'm actually a little sad this was spoiled. My daily little treat is less special and not as much of a surprise.

It certainly makes these forums more interesting, as there's more than just the usual conversations that happen over and over again. :D

I like it too.

And they're now without CapNZapp grousing, so bonus content! :)

I have mixed opinions on the subclasses. I'm really disappointed at the inclusion of kensei, hexblade, and redemption paladin (assuming that's the pacifist one, I can't remember its exact title) since all of those ones were pretty garbage mechanically. Depending on how much changed from the playtest, those ones might be some of the first banned options of 5th edition.

Alternately, some of the other bad options like the stone sorcerer didn't get included, which is heartening for people who actually wanted a real swordmage at some point.

Most of the other subclass options look good, with ranger, rogue, and barbarian probably looking the most consistently solid.

The DM's options look pretty fantastic across the board. I hope a decent chunk of space has been allotted for the downtime activities, since I feel like historically that's been a pretty untapped area of potential with D&D for multiple editions.

Also..."Tying Knots"? Is this a low-key attempt to bring back Use Rope?

Kind of funny my favorites were Kensei the revised version was better than the first version and Hexblade

I tested a high level Kensei in my campaigin from the revised UA article and it is not overpowered by any means

I'm actually playing a Hexblade right now - the once per short rest Curse mechanic is a bit harsh, so hopefully that's fixed - and of course Charisma to Attack - otherwise I rather dig it.

All in all, however - I'm into the drip feed as well. It's a great pace of teaser content =)

So I'm really curious do you suggest just getting rid of Cha to attack?

It's honestly a tough point and has plenty of valid argument. Eldritch Blast is 1d10 +Cha (9 times out of 10 warlocks) [and Ranged!], and you can eventually make four of them. With the rules provided on Hexblade, a Longsword would then do equivalent damage (1d10 +Cha), but only twice per round and you must risk melee confrontation. In all truth, it's still weaker to be a melee Warlock, so I don't see anything innately unbalanced about it, but the flavor just doesn't set right with me. I guess in a homebrew situation, I'd allow it for a character where that felt right to their theme, I just don't personally enjoy it.
