In terms of the 1st level adventures — although Forgotten Relics was written for 5e, I think I actually prefer The Forgotten Forge, especially since it leads into Shadows of the Last War. I might just leave Forgotten Relics for a future campaign.

I also want to run The Murkmire Malevolence and The Joy of Extradimensional Spaces, but I suppose I could bump one or both of those up to a higher level.

Then I might run Trust No One before jumping into Shadows of the Last War. I can follow that up with The Stygian Gambit.

@Paul Farquhar: Thanks for the feedback. To be honest, I haven‘t even read Danger at Dunwater, but I’ve heard it’s one that can be resolved without combat, and I thought it might potentially fit in well with all the heists and mysteries and stuff.
The thing is, if the the players start by taking a negotiating approach, it going to be over very quickly! That's why I never ran it. It kind of relies of the party stating out as murder hobos then discovering they were wrong.

Edit: If you have Exploring Eberron, this adds malenti, Sahuagin physically altered to look like a member of a terrestrial race, to serve as spies and saboteurs. Such a being would be ideal to "complicate" Danger at Dunswater!

Try The Convergance Manifesto from the DMs Guild. Some really good stuff across Eberron and throught the Eberron planes of existence. Starts and ends in Sharn though.

In this case, I’m OK with it being over quickly because that means I’ve got room for more adventures at that level!

I just came across those! Their Escape from Riedra looks cool. I haven’t checked out the full path yet, but it does look like there might be some I can chuck in. I‘m not totally against running some of the adventures in Sharn. I just don’t want to run an entire campaign in that one location. For one thing, I find the city a bit confusing and hard to picture in my head, but I also just want to get them out and touring the world as much as possible!

I know some of the older 3.5e adventures are considered railroady but that’s OK in this case for this particular group. They’re fairly reactive players who are pretty happy just to go along for the ride.

Oh, I think I might chuck Pudding Faire in as one of the possible 3rd level adventures. Honeypuddle and Threepenny Wood could be in a Thelanis manifest zone, and Cyrrollalee and Urdlen could be archfey instead of gods. I might put it in a bucolic little corner of Breland or maybe even the Eldeen Reaches.

Here's our campaign journal (from one characters point of view) in case it is useful to you: Roll20 - Virtual Tabletop for Playing D&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu, TTRPGs

It got as far as the characters getting into Thelanis (the Feywild) and then stopped. For some reason I never enjoy adventures in the feywild. I started a new campaign this year where I told them I had rolled up the characters for them and passed them their redone character sheets with no names, wearing commedia dell'arte costumes and no other gear, and no memories of who they are. The game started with them waking up in a forest and it took them way longer than I thought it would for them to realise that those were their old characters. After 2 years they can't remember the characters very well which fits the loss of memory.

On a rules note, I’d like to use the Hero Points optional rule (to emulate the Action Points from 3.5e Eberron) instead of Inspiration.

For the past few years, I’ve been having the PCs start each session with Inspiration. I generally don’t bother to award it during play if someone has used it.

With the Hero Points, I’m not sure I like the idea of the default 5 + half level each time a PC levels. By the time you get to 20th level, you’d get 15 Hero Points! That’s a lot!

Instead I was thinking of having the PCs start each session with a number of Hero Pointe equal to their proficiency bonus, but that might still be too many. Maybe half proficiency bonus (min 1) would be better.

Thoughts?

there are some pretty good conversions of the 4 adventures that start with forgotten relics to 5e in the DM's Guild.

This is a reimagining of a Dungeon magazine delve by James Wyatt, updated for 5e - The Queen with Burning Eyes, on DMsGuild.
