"I'd love to wash up but I think I can wait until we get back to Daggorford - assuming I'm not too stinky for everyone..." Morgan sniffs his armpits and wrinkles his nose. "That perfume might come in handy"

"It was probably for the Wizard to wash up"

"The downstairs door is barred from inside so, given the thunderous blast from our fight earlier, if anyone was in here, they probably are somewhere they couldn't hear it - maybe a basement - or the place is empty. Do you want to scout downstairs? If the place is empty, I can cast detect magic to see if there's anything of interest.

I can protect you if you want to take a peek."

Morgan holds up his talisman. It was a small metal mirror on a silver chain, inlaid with jade and framed in cold iron. It was blessed by a cleric or Torm - to ward against undead. The jade was for luck, the cold iron was to ward against fey while the silver chain was to ward against anything infernal. The mirror was to reflect deception.

Morgan held it over Tommi and began to chant. Tommi faded from view.

Casting Invisibility on Tommi. Lasts 1 hour.

"Magic man, I have remaining magic from the fight. Take it and cast again your mighty spells."
Morgan felt power flow into him.*

"Oh, wow! Thank-you. How did you do that?"
"Wasn't the wizard's room the room where we killed him?" Escella says. "This room is very out of place."
"But there was no bath there. When I examined the Wizard's body, I can't remember if he smelled like this perfume. I'm, literally, wearing his travelling clothes,"

Morgan smelled the collar of his shirt,

"And Titus is carrying his merchant's clothes. Some of them would smell like the perfume. I didn't check the Gnolls bodies so I don't know if any of them smelled like perfume - given the smell in the other room, probably not. It could also be a part of a purification ritual. "

Investigation and Arcana:
1D20+7 = [11]+7 = 18
1D20+10 = [12]+10 = 22

The first roll is investigation to note if we've smelled the perfume anywhere before
The second is Arcana to know if this could be part of a ritual.

Edit: my roll was under 'anonymous' by accident. I re-rolled under 'Dr. Morgan Wells' with a lesser result.
Investigation and Arcana (because I did it anonymously before by accident): 1D20+7 = [9]+7 = 16
1D20+10 = [3]+10 = 13

*Regained a spell slot.

Tommi goes into the room with the tub, and starts tapping at the tub, disbelieving what he sees, uncertain of how water could be brought in.

OOC: Is it an illusion? A cover for something?

“Did you find anything? I can’t tell because you’re invisible. ”

Legend
Morgan's joke fell a little flat as Tommi took a look around the copper tub, finally concluding that it was just a wash-room. Presumably the Gnolls had no use for it, and the Red Wizard must have declared it to be his own. Morgan sniffed his shirt and found that its scent wasn't dissimilar to the soaps and perfumes found in the room.

"Shall we check doon th'stairs, then?" asked Grottur, growing impatient.

"Easy does it, people. We're in no rush right now. Better to check each room even if it seems safe than to have enemies burst through some hidden doors."
Vairar walks through each room, poking the spear under beds, just in case. He checks the study and after Tommi finishes the tub searching, stands at the stairs.
"Tommi, go, I'll follow, stay close unless you hear something and want to investigate silently."

While Vairar is checking the rooms again, Tommi charges a stone, loads it, and heads downstairs. Oh-Six hovers over his shoulder.

EDIT: Tommi is statled at the effect of Taran's spell, and pokes himself several times before realizing what has happened. "Whoa."

Unseen, Tommi draws gutter and sneaks downstairs. At one point one of the steps squeaks. He pauses, and then continues down.

OOC: Stealth 1d20+8=12.

Lionel finished searching a room and decided to follow Tommi and Vairar downstairs. He kept his crossbow loaded and ready, in case any gnolls would jump them.
