Ahsoka - SPOILERS

Maxperson

Morkus from Orkus
Maybe he’s let the whole “sense emotions through the Force” part of his abilities atrophy. He didn’t give any indication that he’d sensed her coming. And maybe he was just too overcome with joy at seeing her again after 10 years.
Hah! Don't you know that all jedi at some point go to be alone for 10+ years to make huge gains with the force!? :p

According to Mandalorian tradition, she should have kept the Darksabre and ruled Mandalore. And if prophesy is to be trusted, she would have won.
Indeed! But she didn’t want the responsibility and didn’t seem to know about the prophecy (but then neither did ‘princess’ Bo-Katan).*

I suppose you could say Sabine has a history of making poor / selfish decisions, so this latest one isn’t all that out of character in a way.

*I suspect the whole darksaber prophecy was invented later to set up Bo-Katan’s story in The Mandalorian, as was her status as Mandalorian royalty. (Her sister, Satine, ruled as a duchess rather than a queen after all. The same pacifist duchess after whom Sabine ironically named her awful device.)

Ezra seems to have been focusing more on learning how use the Force to fight without a lightsaber than on developing his precognitive and emotion sensing abilities. There’s probably not a whole lot of interesting things to sense in a village of nomadic turtle people.

In contrast, Baylan seems to have strong Force senses. He looked rather sad about letting Shin go, as if he sensed her ambition would lead to her death (hence his warning about being impatient for victory).

There’s only one episode to go. I wonder if that was the last we’ll see of Baylan. It’s a real shame Ray Stephenson passed away, as he’s been a highlight of this show.

They're nomadic because they keep having to periodically move on to avoid trouble. And trouble is always a useful thing to sense coming.

And on a planet with force using witches. He would have by necessity learned to sense and use his force ability in ways that also masked them, as well as probably a host of other techniques.

It’s possible he doesn’t know about the Nightsisters. Or maybe he’s suppressed his presence in the Force in order to hide from them.

They were able to pinpoint Ahsoka’s presence through the Force quickly, albeit while she was conveniently reaching out through it to find Sabine.

But Thrawn told Sabine he didn’t know where Ezra was and that he could very well be dead (and then let her go find him as a means of finding Ezra himself … you’d think he could have asked the Great Mothers to use their magic balls to find him sooner – unless he’s ‘hiding’ his presence somehow, which may also reduce his ability to sense things.

Also, Ezra was still essentially a padawan when he sent himself away. Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Luke were all Jedi Masters by the time they went into exile. That might make a difference in terms of developing your Force senses.

Or, again, it’s just poor writing. Disney really ought to give us ENWorlders a chance to review their Star Wars and MCU show scripts so we can suggest improvements.

I know you’re just teasing here. However, let’s review:

Yoda hid in a swamp near a cave filled with the dark side. Based on his portrayal in the prequels and cartoons and such, I’m not sure we can say he made huge gains in the Force during his 20-odd years in exile.

Obi-Wan went into hiding on Tatooine to watch over Luke for nearly 20 years. He suppressed his Force abilities for part of that time, until he made peace with himself and could finally sense Qui-Gon’s Force ghost and learn from him the secret of retaining your individuality after becoming one with the Force.

Luke completely cut himself off from the Force while in exile on Ahch-To. The whole Force projection thing is something he may have already known how to do (given how he admitted to not having read the sacred Jedi texts). How long was he there? I don’t know that it’s ever been established.

It is likely that Ezra did not want the light saber because maybe he was afraid his Force powers and the Kyber crystal interacting would be a huge beacon that would alert the Nightsisters to exactly where he was.
