D&D 5E Check Out Planescape's Table of Contents & More!

Brandes Stoddard has received a copy of Planescape: Adventures in the Multiverse (which come out in two weeks!) and is posting loads of photos over on Blue Sky. You can check out his feed for the whole treasure trove--here's a look at the table of contents.

I guess you could just take on person's word for the content.....

The people who wrote the book clearly care about the setting. I disagree with pretty much everything Theologan said.

They just aren't going to use "real" gods in their books going forward, I mostly think. If that's a deal breaker for you, well, no idea what to say.

In some other thread I outlined the problems in using the Hindu Gods in 2e, and Kali having a Chaotic Evil alignment. I know it's nowhere at all accurate with how Kali is in Hinduism.

I mean, if you look at the Gate Town descriptions in the original set and here. these are much more useful for actual play. Much. There isn't as much slang and stuff, but there are locations, there are possible adventures, it is just much more useful in actual play.

But the story of the setting seems much worse. I guess we know which side WotC's bread is buttered on.

There's an awful lot of that kind of stuff in Planescape though, to the point of leaving the setting rather gutted without it.

meh. It really doesn't matter to more than a handful of tables, but using "real" gods isn't worth it. Seriously.
