looking for steampunk RPG recommendation (with good scenarios)

Iron Kingdoms is a great setting using a so-so d20/3.5 ruleset (its kinda cumbersome even for 3.5), but doesnt have a lot in the way of published adventures.

Logic of being atheist in a default D&D campaign.

Technically, the definition of atheist is that you dont believe in God, in any form, so no that'd be more agnostic. Atheist would probably be the right word for someone who believed the Gods were just very powerful mortal (or formerly mortal) beings, but not true Gods.

Logic of being atheist in a default D&D campaign.

The Netheril period of Forgotten Realms can, in some ways, be called atheist. Most archmages believed Gods were just the next level of power from archmage, so while they saw them as powerful, they didnt believe them to be anything more than exceptionally powerful. In Ptolus, the followers of...

D&D 5E "The next iteration of D&D is a game on its own"

The whole bit about $10 for lunch and everyone chooses something different makes it sound like there will be a toolbox of various rules additions (for example start with a core of 1e, and a toolbox that contains things like 2e weapon/non-weapon profs, 3e skills, 3e feats, 4e powers, etc), and...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder home game, swashbuckler class.

The Swashbuckler and Saurian race are both available on PFSRD, but the class is somewhat buried and badly formatted, most likely uselessly so. If you do want to try and read it, its here.

D&D 5E Ultimate Magic Playtesting to Start Next Week

Spellstrike: One idea is to allow the Magus to deliver the spell with a weapon attack, but have the success be conditional. If his attack hits touch AC but not full AC, then the spell is delivered. If it hits both... he does both. Goes against long-standing 3.x tradition on how rules work...

Thinking of returning to AD&D 2nd ed... Advice needed.

One option is Castles & Crusades, which is for the most part a melding of 2e and 3e, but it might have a bit too much of the latter if you're not into 3e. Another option is, I know there have been a few people working on 2e-specific retro-clones, but I was never into that scene enough to know...

What's your favorite RPG that you've never actually played?

Top of my list would probably be Savage Worlds. Haven't managed to talk my players into trying the system, but I've taken a half step and am converting Sundered Skies to PF to hopefully tempt them. Beyond that, Space 1889 and Rocketship Empires 1936 both look really cool, and I've heard amazing...

Which D&D Campaign World did you enjoy most?

Back in the day, it was definitely FR: all the complaints about it being too fleshed out is exactly why I loved it, it sorta felt like reading a detailed history of a living world. Today, Ptolus is by far the leading candidate. Though I suppose it depends on your definition of "D&D setting" as...

    Half orcs are real

...does this mean that Captain Caveman was my ancestor? Seriously, kinda cool to have this (nearly) proven, given its been speculated for so long. It'll be interesting to see what the bits of DNA left from them actually do.

Players: Does anyone else not mind railroading?

I could answer this a couple ways. A railroady game tends to depend more on the DM's plans and whether they're any good or not, so a good DM and story can make even an obvious railroad fun... but it can get old when its obvious you're just along for the ride, so to speak. OTOH, as a DM, I've...

    Free RPG Day

Always kinda surprised me that my area was such a RP deadzone, given that I live in So Cal. I mean damn, the closest participating store is more than 50 miles away.

Problems with removing attacks of opportunity?

Aside from a few feats/skills that become worthless/nearly worthless, there really isn't a huge problem with just yanking them out. You may want to consider what that does for spellcasting, though. If you're fine with the fact that if there are no AoOs, then casters technically have no...
