Just wanted to add-in that this adventure is excellent and was one of the best of the 3.5 era for sure. It has a solid mix of wilderness/battle encounters and some fun small-dungeons. I also really enjoyed the "metagame" of managing Campaign "Victory Points" acquired for accomplishing objectives...
XP for GP is all about deciding how to reward player's and by stating "this is what's important in my game"
In a megadungeon campaign I ran for many years the players got XP for exploring rooms, finding secret doors, discovering new levels, keeping accurate maps, and learning lore about the...
Potions of Healing are available in the PHB and are listed as a "common" magic item in the DMG alongside 1st level scrolls.
1. does this imply that potions of healing should be widely made available for pcs to purchase?
2. If so; do potions of healing become the new CLW wand of this edition...
In 3.x/PF it's explicitly stated that you can use Disable Device to disarm magical traps. What about in 5e? I never really saw how little files, saws, and hooks were "disabling" a set of magical wards... but was wondering what 5e says on the matter?
Is it correct in 5e that with a shield and a weapon wielded; a cleric will not be able to cast spells with a somatic and/or material component (needing one free hand to do so)?
If so; is it the game intention for clerics to be either combatants OR spellcasters, but not both simultaneously?
"When a creature makes a melee attack, it can also mark its target. Until the end of the attacker's next turn, any opportunity attack it makes against the marked target has advantage. The OA doesn't expend the attacker's reaction. THe attacker is limited to one opportunity attacker per turn."
So...
referring to Mark on pg 271 of the DMG:
- Is this an Action meaning you use it as a replacment for your normal attack action?
- Can anyone/everyone do this? Fighters? Wizards? Monsters?
- The Opportunity attack doesn't expend reaction... but limited to one opportunity attacker per turn...
For using an Action Point to recover a “limited resource” does this allow spellcasters to regain spells?
i.e.
A wizard is out of 3rd-level spell slots. But uses an Action Point recovers a third-level spell slot, and then casts another Fireball.
Thanks!
I've been using Trailblazer from Bad Axe Games to modify some rules from my PF game I've been running.
For any of the designers of TB or others who have extensive use with the modifications of the system, can you address this issue?
Example: Greater Stone Golem (or any other high BAB monster)...
Why restrict it just to casters then?
Why not make a feat like:
Market Contacts [Arms and Armor]:
Use: Make a Gather Info (Diplomacy) check equal to same DC as to make the item
Time: It takes 1 day of haggling, shopping, connecting per 1000gp of the item's price
Effect: Purchase the...
As the OP just wanted to weight in on the discussion:
re: XP for crafting
I played a heavy item-crafter wizard in a 3.5 campaign. I spent a TON of experience to make items for the rest of the party, the designers are quite right that I was being "taxed" in experience no less! for choosing to...
