Renegade Studios Sends C&D To Stop Small Creator Using The Word 'Renegade'

Yeah, I now will probably never get anything that Renegade Game Studios put out, but I'm going to keep my eye on the Polyhedral Knights to see if there are stuff they put out that interests me.

Renegade Studios Sends C&D To Stop Small Creator Using The Word 'Renegade'

So people who are partnered with Hasbro are trying to hurt a small indie company? That's a great look.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

I guess something like a wiki where people put a list of products that are badly OCR'd or not OCR'd at all, That could be useful for things outside of D&D to a number of RPGs.

Dragonlance Age of Mortals Road to Danger Ravenloft Domains of Dread Book of Crypts Most of the Dragonlance Saga products like citadel of light and so on. D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

It's not perfect, but does a good honest effort. Feels like they're very sincerely trying there, I know they've been slowly overhauling the site to increase it's usability too. I rate DDB pretty highly for that, and look forward to see what the same team does with the Cortex system.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

I'm with you on bad OCR'ing. :) And I've definitely had people get annoyed in various D&D communities with my advocating for people who can't use physical books or who need decent PDFs for the products. It wasn't until D&D Beyond became a thing that I was finally able to read the entire 5e D&D...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

I've brought it up in the support and feedback. Both with WotC and OBS. I don't really do social media because it's just hellish landscape that seems best avoided. :)

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

No, with a well designed PDF, I can generally use a screen reader. If the PDF is poorly put together and had not been OCR'd at all (the Dragonlance Age of Mortals from 3.5 for example) then you can do nothing with it. The PDF is just a collection of scanned images without the text being...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

I've never begrudged community content creators on the DM's Guild for not being able to do this, you're not given the resources of professional publishing companies. My issue is more with the professionals not putting their content in a friendly format. There's a website that a lot of DM's...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

The reeilly good screen readers are pretty expensive unfortunately. But there are things like https://www.webbie.org.uk/ https://www.webbie.org.uk/thunder/ https://www.nvaccess.org/ I'm sure I'm forgetting a few.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

Honestly, I always liked that there were a group based on my own gypsy heritage. It was a far better thing than other crap I dealt with for it when I was younger, people can be jerks. Rather violent jerks.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

WotC could do is to make sure if they replace or update their PDF files that they're not lower quality, I've had versions of PDFs for 2nd edition that were mostly usable, replaced with files that either lost their optical character recognition (OCR) or had it severely reduced. Making it...

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

Haha, why didn't I think of that. Oh wait, I said, multiple complaints. This stuff about inclusiveness is just lip service when you get people who are actually excluded from the game because of their disabilities.

D&D General WotC’s Official Announcement About Diversity, Races, and D&D

Meanwhile, they ignore repeated requests to make their classic products disabled friendly by leaving them OCR'd terribly. So that one cannot use a screenreader, the number of things I've brought off the DM's Guild that I can't use because they're not disabled friendly is enough to make me really...

    Uneasy Partnerships

Yeah, in my experience gaming shops weren't exactly friendly. The one I used to go to never seemed to host games, once or twice it hard tiny cards for people looking for players or GMs. But largely, my biggest memory was of a sales assistant telling me why the thing I wanted to buy sucked...
