I want to use 5E to emulate 2E/proto 3E as close as possbile. Are there any builts for this? Are there rules to skip the subclasses? Thank you guys!

Sorry Morrus, but I have to disagree. Playtests can be part of a business model in addition to the obvious purpose of gathering feedback.. Remember Paizo even sold a beta document (with great success) The original question was "Losing interest in the D&D Playtest". I still think, that my answer...

For me surges feel like playing some kind of x-men. A D&D fighter for me should feel like in GoT for example. A mundane fighting maschine that employs steel and tactics, based on strenght and wits, not so much on flashy computer game powers.

AND. It seems like the same mechanism is used for attack vs. ac. No more scaling.
