I'm annoyed by this, not because I hate new things, but because I'm being told that I can't get a 5e hardcover for my favorite campaign settings as that would cause some sort of mystical fracture in the player base which would lead D&D to bankruptcy.
So because someone I personaly recomended have received some attacks I consider to be utterly unfair I feel compeled to make a comment.

Promote ideas like one true way: Yes, he defends the aproach he is teaching as the right way of doing things...
Yes. Thats what I'll be looking for in the book as I don't expect too much diferenciation in terms of the ideas presented in the blog.
That said I think you can find evidence he can do that in some recent articles.

I'm curious about that. As far as I know there are 3 system neutral books. But I wonder, how much was added through all those years of Pathfinder and other systems support that would make a 5e book a must have.
In the audio they mentioned something I couldn't understand about new classes beyond the artificer and the mystic. Does someone know what classes they possibly mentioned?
I know this sort of thing is supposed to make a char to feel like evil but it really makes it feel like a pain in the butt, don't matter if it's a PC or NPC.
Instead of random encounter tables and character names on XGtE I think it would be way more useful if they included a table of Challenge Rating effects of monster features introduced in VGtM and perhaps other sources.

Can't afford to pay 30 bucks for the books I already own in a format I'm not so sure how much will last. Would have to buy at least 5 of them again. $10 would be a sweet deal (the price of a Pathfinder pdf). $15 would still be...

Plus, since the mainstream market of video games draw a lot of inspiration from tabletop RPG, we can say we are trendy too?
