D&D General Festivals, Fairs, and Holy Days

Hope it's okay to share my own list. My campaign world turns on the shifting whims of Olympians and Fey, so... Olympian Feasts, Festivals and Celebrations: (Apollo) Pythean Festival / Festival of Tears, Autumn, every 5 years – poetry & musical laments (Apollo) Sibylline, Summer – oracles and...

D&D General What would your "fourth core rulebook" be?

Seconded! The first edition Deities & Demigods has a special place in my heart and has always been part of my "Core Four" Advanced Dungeons & Dragons tomes, melding my obsession with the game and my love for mythology. (Awesome avatar, by the way!) And further, it opened up the game (for me...

    Spoilers Agatha All Along discussion

I was thinking MTV's Real World, but that might be more of a Wandavision (TV genre) vibe than an Agatha-show (decade genre) scenario

    Dragon Reflections #80

I was briefly excited to hear that someone else had similar experiences with Barnacus: City in Peril until I looked a little closer... oh wait, that's one of my players. I've been quietly waiting for the Dragon Reflections article on issue 80 for years now. After spending a few...

    Prop question

If you have Microsoft Word... Copy and Paste the image into Word, right click on the image... one of the options should be Format Picture. This should bring up a menu with an Artistic Effects option... which has some fun options.

D&D General from Dungeons to Dragons

One of my gaming crew came down with not-COVID last week, but had to suffer through that interminable "how many people did I possibly infect?" period while waiting for test results (because apparently some take-home tests aren't terribly accurate in detecting Omicron). Wanting to check in on...

    Renaming Fantasy Shamans/Shamanism (+)

Mystic is my default for the shamanistic range of class abilities, but I also use Keeper, Warden and Grey Walker to designate various magical specialties. Or I guess Spirit Walker could be a thing.

    Player Distractions.

I'm a rabid multi-tasker, and I *need* to keep my hands busy - usually sketching but often reviewing my spells and abilities. The DM always has my full attention, but I can-not-be-still. Can't do it. But I'm usually the most active & engaged PC. As a DM, I've had Dreamers, who need to be...

    D&D 3.x 3.5e NG aligned Paladin-like class?

I think this is a re-post of the Sentinel (Neutral Good Paladin) from Dragon 310: Sentinel Also, Unearthed Arcana (3.5) has variant Chaotic Good Paladin (compulsion immunity/aura instead of fear immunity/aura; different spell list), as well as a LE & CE version. Ultimately, if your DM is...

Would you play in this game?

I read the OP as saying the campaign would take place on a Railroad. I would totally play a campaign set on a Railroad. Awesome.

    Csi: ???

The CSI/Who themes are a triumph of cross marketing. Or something. They're just awesome. I'm always happiest when they milk the organ intro leading up to the "Horatio Scream." ("Looks like... [sunglasses on] ... a critical hit.") "Behind Blue Eyes" is the next/best/obvious choice for a CSI...

What fake gaming terminology does your group use?

Over the course of years of play, we pick up terminology that really isn't officially sanctioned and copy-written by TSR, WOTC, or The Powers That Be. Nevertheless these words become part of our gaming langauge. What unofficial jargon does your group use? Some examples... "Playing" - No one...

    Strangest place you've gamed...?

I totally forgot this when I started the thread... I used to hike down to Temple University to game with a friend and his college buddies. One night, for a change of pace, we played after hours in this upscale bakery in Center City Philadelphia where he worked. After an hour or so, my friend...
