I wholeheartedly agree as much as I enjoy 5e, I'm really a person who likes a little more crunch and a few more options. 5e past level 3 you make so few meaningful character choices unless you multiclass that fundamentally by the time level 5 or 6 comes around who your character is doesn't...
The thing that is supposed to balance that out one handed vs two handed is that AC matters a lot more with critical hits being +10 AC. Meaning when monster attack bonuses get high if you are focused solely on damage at the expense of defense you become a glass cannon who won't survive many...
I guess to me investing in the Golarion lore is better because then if you so choose you can easily run more of the awesome APs using 5e. I'm also just not a fan of Faerun in general with all the God NPCs around.
No one is asking the rogue to go blow for blow with the fighter. What they are asking is for the rogue to be relevant in combat, or if you focus on a build with a lot less utility then to equal in combat.
This I can agree with their stance that nothing is wrong with the mechanics infuriates me beyond belief. It doesn't help that a large part of the fanbase thinks WOTC can do no wrong and that if we add any complexity or new classes that it will automatically turn into broken 3.5. The longer I...
Concentration isn't a terrible thing, but I wish that you could remove concentration by using higher level slots on lower level spells. Like say a 3rd level slot on a first level spell would remove concentration, so that you could do more stuff when you need to, but consumes more resources at...
I'll say it's adding a much better and easier to understand action system than 5e. I think adding modularity is something 5e desperately needs. 5e characters make almost 0 decisions after 3rd level
Yeah I agree it's super relevant. When I DM and I am creating an encounter for my PCs especially once I get to higher levels I use a measure of time to kill/unconscious my PCs as a relevant measure of difficulty
