If these folks began to hate on fluffernutter, I'd suspect that instance of their Hat Of All Things New would derive from the use of "fluffernutter" as a codeword on Critical Role. CR often seems to be a bête noire for some people that loudly dislike modern D&D and RPGs.

I think there's an Act of Parliament that demands that someone point out that if you keep digging, you will eventually find that it's turtles, all the way down.

Modern action movies actually seem to go with D&D falls; watch people jump from heights in the Fast & Furious movies, and walk away. John Wick. Any number of shows where someone dives/is thrown out a window or off a roof, lands on a car roof, smashing it spectacularly, and then slowly gets up...

I KO'd the giant eagles. Right after the fight, I go check something in inventory; I hear some dings and saw a damage number float by. "Ah, crap," I think, "Is someone on fire or poisoned or something?" Nope. It was the blue jay, killing the unconscious giant eagles.

The original 3e PHB came with a CD-ROM with character generator software on it, and a promise for updates later. It was never updated.
