Since you've run Zweihander, I'm going under the assumption you've played Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay as well? If so, would you say Zwei is significantly better then WFRP? Or at least what are the major differences?

I've actually thought about Cthulhu Dark Ages. But I wondered how tied in certain core mechanics like sanity or things like it, that wouldn't make sense in my game, would work. Like could I just completely ignore them without breaking things?

RP/Story focus has always been my preference, and would be how I run it. But everyone, even the most hardcore RPers, do also want combat. Whether its running into bandits... monsters in the forest... ect. And ultimately, combat is where the systems mechanics are the MOST important and what 90%...

Oh, I know. I've gotten to the point that I'd likely just suck it up and go for modified 5e. Its just harder to get that low magic, realistic feeling of Harn with it.

So, I discovered Harn maybe, at most, a year ago, and it has everything I would ever want for my dream fantasy TTRPG universe. Problem is... the system... I have the same complaints with Harnmaster that pretty much everyone else has, it's too dense, unintuitive, and simply too much to deal with...
