D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

The first time I did not cut it out, I linked the entire post. I cut it out and qouted it so you could explain the context to us. You did as a point of fact say it, and you can't articulate any other context you meant it in. If it is out of context why can't you explain for us what the...

D&D General Curse of Strahd: Best Warlock Subclass?

My pick would be Undying Warlock with Agonizing Truestrike.

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Yes I do. In fact it is a reply to something I said where you quoted me, and I what I am claiming is not out of your intended context when you wrote it. If it is out of context, explain what context we are supposed to take it in when you say: "It is RAW, though, that the hit that brings you...

    D&D 5E (2024) Class Tier List 1 Year Later.

I'm sorry, I am not complaining and did not intend for it to come across like that. I don't think any Rogue or Ranger or really any class can 1v1 a Noble Prodigy at level 9 with a good chance of success. If I was going to try I would probably do a Bladesinger with Mage Slayer feat, but that...

    D&D 5E (2024) Class Tier List 1 Year Later.

This is what I don't like about a Paladin, they really emphasize the martial side of the character. I think if you want an Archer you should play a Fighter. Not saying you can't do it with a Paladin or a Ranger, but that just doesn't feel like what those classes should be about to me. I am...

    D&D 5E (2024) Class Tier List 1 Year Later.

I play more Fey Wanderers than any other subclass, I don't think you should be picking this subclass if you are building for a DPR character. A Fey Wanderer is really a controller first with ok but not great martial abilities that you can contribute with. If we are talking about a 1V1 here...

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

As a player multiclassing is probably my favorite part of 5E compared to older editions. I certainly don't want it any more restrictive than it is and I think it is a huge improvement over 3E where you lost experience if there was a split. TBH what I would really like is to do away with the...

D&D General How well does mixing 5es in one table work?

    Ok. It works for me.

D&D General How well does mixing 5es in one table work?

Well there are a lot of rules not reprinted, including a lot of content that is not player facing. For example - gritty realism, optional rules for shove aside and tumbling through opponents.

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Yes I was. Again the last line in thew following linked post. You can keep denying, but it is right there if you click on the post, and it is in context. https://www.enworld.org/threads/is-5e-better-because-of-crawford-and-perkins-leaving.716340/post-9813594 You just refuse to admit you were...

D&D General How well does mixing 5es in one table work?

We play mixed games all the time. The key to this is do not use anything from 2014 that was reprinted, but feel free to use everything that was not reprinted. So use the 2014 version of Cause Fear and the 2024 version of Tasha's Hideous Laughter. Don't use the 2014 classes, but you can use...

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

The point is, if you play that subclass it is certainly not underpowered. Well it is not once a turn and does not even use a reaction and you need to see him to cast magic missile. An 18th level Monk with a 10 Constitution has 93 hit points. Assuming you have a way of seeing invisible, and...

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

I found 2014 long death Monk to be pretty awesome and basically unkillable once Mastery of Death came online. A Long Death Monk is arguably the most powerful single class PC at level 15+. I also had fun playing Shaow Monk and Drunken Monk, although they were on the weak side.

D&D 5E (2024) New Feats, avenues to diversity?

The backgrounds provide +3 to your abilities at character creation and they are connected to Origin Feats. If you play with custom backgrounds then the part about the Origin Feat is a moot point. In the case of Dragonscarred though there is the issue that the 4th level feat does not boost the...

D&D 5E (2024) New Feats, avenues to diversity?

Your background gets you +3 and your 4th level feat gets +1. If you have both a background and a feat that do not augment your class that is 4 points you are behind compared to someone that does get those bonuses in abilities that matter for the class (or 5 points behind compared to someone who...
