I started playing the D&D Basic Rules as a kid in about 79 and quickly switched to AD&D, which I played, usually as DM, for about the next 20 years. As later editions came out, I ignored them, as the AD&D rules always seemed fine to me. However, I got the bug to start playing again right around the time 5th Ed was getting ready to launch, so I found a group and have been playing some 5th Ed recently. The new rules are fine, but I still tend to think in AD&D.
I've dabbled in other RPG's and done a little computer gaming, but found computer games constricting. I prefer the action to be in my head as there are no limits.
